Midfielders other than Bellingham

Those were different times...have you seen how we struggle to use Carvalho? and also use the AM Elliott in midfield?
I don't think it's a case of struggling to use them....they're teenagers who have essentially come from the championship into a high demanding top prem club...for where they are in their career's they're doing fine.

For sure
But it also seems there is uncertsinty as to where They fit into our current system

the idea that we will get him for Curtis and 5 mill, come on lads...
I honestly believe JWP will leave Southhampton end of this season if they go down and that figure will bel between £25-35m. We will not make any approach for him. I really don't like CJ, it stems from a couple of seasons back where I felt the git looked entitled, he felt he was way better than he actually was.

[article]Borussia Dortmund have a plan to try to keep Jude Bellingham at the club this summer.

The German giants do not want to lose the all-action English midfielder to a bigger club, with Liverpool and Real Madrid keen.

Despite Bellingham being likely to fetch them up to £100 million if there is a bidding war, Dortmund want to hang onto him for at least one more season.

Per BILD in Germany, they will offer Bellingham a 150 percent increase in his wages.

He will also get a lengthier contract, making him the highest paid player in the club's history.

In addition, there will be a £131 million release clause in the deal, should a club want to prize him away in the future.[/article]

I think I have said it before, but I fucking hate players being referred to by 3 initials. JWP my hole.

Tielemans is a really good player who would cost nothing, It's a no-brainer for me, of any player, he is the most Wini-like

James Daniel Maddison (JDM) has one year left on his contract and undoubtedly would want to move to a bigger club. I know he has injury issues, but if we are to go for affordable English talent, I would rather him than £60m Mount

Tielemans at his best is undoubtedly good enough but there have been questions about his attitude lately. I'm not necessarily saying steer clear of him, but we'd need to get our due diligence right on this one.

Talented but unable to reach any consistency in performance due to constant niggling injuries. Will command decent wages. Reminds you of anyone?

You are literally getting an Ox replacement. Once our medical team gets their hand on him, they will make sure his constant niggling injuries graduate to missing entire seasons within three months.

Prior to Jan, him and Maddison were turning it around for Brodge. Because you're getting Tielemans on a Free, even if he doesn't work out, his sell-on fee is still £30m plus.

Fair point, but his goal tally from MF would be invaluable, something neither Ox nor the False Naby really contributed to. If we are to get English, I just don't want English at £60m, I rather we paid £10m more and get Declan. Something about Mount and £60m just doesn't sit well with me

He's on a free. He shouldn't be the centerpiece of the midfield rebuild but a low risk complementary add to the 1-2 we spunk our transfer booty on.

And I've heard the attitude rumors but he's putting in the mileage, according to the stats, so I dunno. He's not lazy, at the very least.

He was also a regular starter in the two seasons Leicester finished 5th and still fairly present in last year's 8th placed finish.

40 goals + assists combined in 143 league starts with Leicester overall. In previous seasons has been among the league leaders in passes into the final third, progressive passes, goal creating actions, tackles, tackles won, touches, successful take on %.

An he's allegedly on just 35k per week. Even with a raise to 50-60k, that's not a bank breaker.

At the risk of agreeing with @bluebell , he's got Gini vibes. Talented offensive player with the engine to be the workhorse/watercarrier we seem to be missing.

I agree with you, but on a free transfer Tielemens will be over 120k easily.

I agree that he will be a good signing. But I dont think he is a Gini. He is not as press resistant and cannot hold onto the ball like Gini. Based on my limited viewing of him and his youtube compilations, he seems like a Bellingham with a lower ceiling.

Get to fuck. You think so? I'd be shocked. I could see up to 90k and think that's still decent value.

120k seems high to me, although I could be wrong. Depending on the length of the contract, given what a decent midfielder costs in transfer fees, could still be good value.
