Midfielders other than Bellingham

Danilo with his 3 goal in 3 games for Forest tonight. He's gonna be a really good player, we could go for him this summer or play the 'wait and see' game and end up looking at Caicedo prices next year.

That’s impossible, Danilo was signed during the period where Bellingham was the only midfielder in the world that could play in our side. You’re saying that was wrong?

Danilo, Alcaraz, Joao Gomez….all players we should’ve been in for.

I was waxing lyrical about Danilo, we didn't go for him. If Forest go down, they'd sell him for £30-40m,and they would have done the job of acclimatising him to the PL and weather.
There are lots of options out there

Imagine if we had all 3, our midfield would be set for the next 7-8 years.

So many midfielders we've let slip over the last 2 years waiting for a player we all knew we had no chance to get, really hope we get it right this time.

I just leave this here.

Video wouldn't play, but in any case the accusation's ludicrous. Every newspaper puts its view forward in the certain knowledge that some will disagree with it. It isn't just those you personally happen to disagree with which deserve to be called "divisive".

Not sure I’d agree that every newspaper put forward this kind of thing…

The thing is the signings have all worked to an extent may be other than Ox, Naby and Karius with Naby being the biggest disappointment. He is gone along with Ox, and we know

You can watch it on YouTube. Lord Rothemere was a Nazi sympathiser, aswere many in the aristocracy, including the former King of the United Kingdom who became the Duke of Westminster
In the video Mehdi Hassan attacks the Daily Mail for the way it tried to character assassinate Milliband's father who fought against the Nazis.

Is right - too many people call those who are right wing "fascists" and "nazis" without really understanding the terms, which then undermines the severity of the description. I hated Thatcher with a passion, the poisonous tory bitch, but I would never describe her as fascist or nazi.

I would call some of the headlines Daily Mail and Daily Express published over the years as down right racist, misogynist and homphobic. Just sum it up purely as stupid and hateful to it’s core.

Stevie, that was 80, repeat EIGHTY years ago FFS.

It was 80 years ago - but it’s not inaccurate to say that the Daily Nail has a history of supporting Nazi’s - and these are actual Nazi’s/Facists - so I don’t have a problem with someone pointing it out.

This particular Viscount Rothermere was known to be a friend of Hitler & Mussolini and the Mail is still owned by the same family. - so while the current mob couldn’t be described as “Nazi’s” they do have form - and it’s important to acknowledge it.

After all - there’s another rag that shouldn’t be getting a pass because it’s been over 30 years since it printed it’s filth and the then editor is no longer there.

Mate, I'm the son of a Holocaust refugee. Bandying terms like "Nazi" or even "a bit fash" around cheaply like this robs them of any meaning.

Fash isn't exclusively owned by nazi ideology. The fact the mail was supportive of Nazi ideology, And maintains a very strong pro right wing, anti immigrant, anti protest, and anti worker rhetoric absolutely makes them a bit fascist. It's why I'd don't say Nazi, as I agree, that does cheapen it.

If things aren't likened and compared to previous instances of things building up, then what's the point? Lessons from history arent meant to stay there; they're meant to develop to allow people to stop things before they get to that point again.

We may be nowhere near that point yet, but it doesn't change the fact that elected officials and some media outlets are using language not too dissimilar to language used

I agree with the general argument that we have to learn from history. I emphatically do not agree that things have got to a point where comparisons with the Nazis and what they did are relevant, and I have six million reasons for saying that, some of whom were directly related to me. Right wing (which the "Mail" certainly is) does not equal "fascist" any more than left wing equals Stalinist. Weasel words like "not too dissimilar" don't help us to learn lessons. They just cloud the issue.

Not sure why it would be confusing for fascists to also be socialist. Socialism results in more power held centrally, and more governmental control. So kind of understandable that it would be more appealing to an authoritarian dictator.

"Fascist" doesnt equal "free market capitalist" - usually quite the opposite.
