17 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last season and then, a 32m transfer to Chelsea later, with no injuries or suspensions... 109 minutes in the Premier League for Chelsea. This is seriously fucked up. I wonder if this guy could be the next Sturridge / Lukaku situation for Chelsea.

Maybe we should see if we can loan the guy for next season. There's nothing to lose here for us - it's not like we're definitely developing him for Chelsea because they've got previous with loaning guys out, and even with evidence of the players doing well out on loan, still misusing or under-utilizing them after the loan spell.

Fair enough being back up to Costa (who always seems to have one foot out the door) but the complete lack of game time is astonishing.

Thing is, he's been in the matchday squad every game, so Conte sees fit to pick him at least, so probably it's not an attitude issue. It's just baffling that he gets onto the field for those ridiculously insulting garbage minutes - literally, a minute here, a couple there, another minute here, another five there. Oh, 16 minutes! A wonderful day!

For what it's worth, his first 22 minutes of league action off the bench (5 minutes in the first game, 17 in the second) resulted in a late game-winning assist and a late equalizer in the two games. Those were also Chelsea's first two games of the season. Figure that out.

To be honest, I've never seen him play, and only seen his clips, but surely, you don't score 17 in the French top division and turn out totally worthless the next season without injuries. It's just really, really mysterious!
