With some of the abuse Owen gets on here you'd think he played for United.

So you would accept your wife shaggin the neighbor, then hopping back into bed and saying - but I gave you the best blowjobs ever for 6 years....so forgive me honeybun.

Er, ok. But to put it more sensibly, if you ran a company (you might do, I don't know) and one of your best employees you had ever had left to join another company, didn't do quite so well there and wanted to come back, would you say no, just out of spite?

As a great man from Liverpool once said....

"Football's not a matter of life and death; it's much more important than that."

He was from Scotland

And as that doesn't really relate to my point at all I'll take that as a 'no'

I think a lot of people in business do let their emotions get in the way with bitterness, jealously, favouritism, spite etc. not being uncommon. If the guy left in acrimonious circumstances, it's not entirely unthinkable that the company wouldn't take him back.

Either way, we feel all of that stuff all the more strongly in football. It's a different world altogether when it comes to "employees".

I'd look at his record after he left and if it were best for all parties I'd definately take him (said ex employee) back. Based on owen's injury track record we were wise to pass on him (when he left real) it had fuck all to do with circumstances of his departure.
