#Mbappe2020 Part 2

I know Mbappe and Traore are different roles but systems wise I think we get batter value by going for Traore than Mbappe.
Traores transfer fee and wages will be much lower and he'll be more happier to share a place with our other front three compared to Mbappe. Plus considering the way Klopp has raised Mane's level would you be surprised to see Traore finishing higher than Mbappe for balon dor?

Go to bed.
Really? It's not inconceivable to think that Klopp couldn't turn Traore into a world beater? Is that so shocking considering his track record with previous players? Note that I didn't say Traore is a better player than mbappe, I'm just thinking long term wise, buy him and build him up. Don't forget Henderson redemption arc, many were laughing at him calling him one of the worst Liverpool captains not so long ago.

And as for value, Mbappe will cost north of 200m, his wages will probably equal 500k a week MINIMUM (for perspective Sanchez at United is on 500k a week!). Traore could be got maybe for 50-70m? Why do I need to go to bed for those thoughts?

And yes again I know Mbappe and Traore play different positions one is a winger the other a striker, but our team has a pretty fluid system, even Firmino doesn't really play like a classic striker there's a lot of floating around, so I don't see why we can't consider Traore as an alternative addition for the front three.

Traore isn't THAT good. People over hyping him. He's a speed freak with not a big amount of skill and is now going to be way over priced for what you would get

He needs to do it consistently over another 12 months and even then against teams that sit deep and don’t give tot space to kick and chase he won’t be anywhere near as effective

This.
He's a tremendous asset to the right sort of club. But for a side like us or City that has heaps of possession and has to break through multiple banks of defenders, I dont see it.

Werner + Traore
Or
Mbappe

I'd imagine that they'd have similar outlays with transfer fees + wages over the course of 5 years on those options.

Mbappe is available for £300m his wages at the moment is £400k
Werner, is available for £59m and Traore £65m should be enough. Wages probably £120k per week each should be satisfactory

What a statement this would be. Would announce us as one of the 3 biggest clubs in the world.

Yo Micheal Edwards....Just do it

Thank-you for spelling it out financial wise. Even two quality players is cheaper than mbappe. All I was originally saying is that Klopp has a strong history of turning water into wine, never for a second do I think Traore is better than Mbappe.

Ironically I wouldn't be surprised to see Traore lining up at PSG next season with especially with Cavani off. Neymar, Mbappe and Traore would be a fearsome front trio.

I don’t give a fuck about money. It’s not my money. And I think Traoré will plummet at 28. His physique is too big to be a long lasting top player.

I was saying this in work today.

I also struggle to see him putting in the shift we ask for our players to do for a full season with that frame & mass, I don't think he'd be able to do it week in week out for 90 minutes.

Look at the amount of running hendo & the other midfielders do, I doubt he would be able to match that for a prolonged period simply due to his size.

We’ve already covered this.

There are several scenarios for Mbappe :
- He’s coming on a free when his contract ends
- He’ll refuse to go to any other club and force PSG to accept our “fair” offer or he’ll leave for free
- He has a release clause if PSG get done for FFP and booted out of the Champions League.

As far as his wages - he’ll accept a lower wage because he’ll get :
- Klopp hugs
- trophies
- a chance to win the ballon d’or
- more Klopp hugs
- a team spirit and mentality he’ll not get anywhere else
- even more Klopp hugs

Besides - Real & Barca can’t afford him without becoming the cunts they’re accusing Man City & PSG of being.

And they can’t give him Klopp hugs.

Until Klopp goes to either of those clubs. But yeah, agree with what you say there, also as mentioned already either we sell Salah or Mane to fund such transfer.

This is incontrovertible. A cast iron case. He's in the bag. Which is very heavy given it is made of cast iron. And has a person in it.

You know what - and I know this is going to fucking hurt - but signing Mbappe... or more specifically, given what would actually have to happen to make that signing happen- a top young world class talent signing for footballing reasons above cash!!!!

That signing would reinvigorate my absolute passion I had for football and footballers - since my heart was broken by Fernando Torres.

And winning that trophy I can’t name for fear of having to sacrifice the neighbours first born!!!

It’s always amazing to find bargains in the transfer market and turn them into stars. We’ve had a good run recently but these runs never last.

Just look at Wenger. He had that golden period and everyone just assumed that that was his thing - that he could continue to pluck young kids and random players from obscurity and turn them into world beaters. And he continued to try unfortunately for Arsenal.

At some point if we want to stay at the top we will probably need to mix up our approach (as we kinda already have with VVD and Alisson).

Spending ludicrously huge money on Mbappe is a bad idea from a financial point of view in itself... EVERYONE would fucking love to have him but we are not an over inflated oil club and we cannot afford him and even if we could we shouldnt throw hundreds of millions at a player whose main power is speed. Speed merchants ALWAYS evenyually rip their hammys and lose the advantage, and we as Liverpool fans should know, Owen,Torres... both unbefuckinglievable to start and both brilliant players BUT... payimg 300M and 500K a week for a player who will (probably) get slower... hmm...

We are not going to so it’s cool.

Imagine he flirts with us all summer, begs us to make an offer.... then fucks off to city to succeed Aguero because we didn’t go in for him.

Would preventing that be worth the financial burden?
