Wiley is just the ref you don't want for this kind of match. He's basically saying help yourself when Leeds clatter into us, and he's blowing when we tackle.

You'll be shattered to learn that Lawrenson has just contradicted you.

good save in fairness

only cos it was right at him

Great free kick by Aurelio, Riera should have scored but his heading needs improvement for such a tall boy we could utilize him if he did improve. then bounces around and we see that this side is better than attacking the ball in the air then our first team thanks to the height of Ngog, the Greek, Riera, and Babel.

abbel was like lightening just then
He has looked frighteningly quick tonight.

5-6 minutes of the end of the half showing a cool calm, cohesiveness and a creativity I haven't once seen for a reserve team made up like this for Liverpool.

But overall the scoreline is fair if not a little unlucky for Leeds for the disallowed goal but a poor decision by there attacker

That turn of pace was electric. I remember having this argument with Wizardry and a few others a season or two ago who were saying that he has no acceleration - the guy is fucking lightning.

Very disjointed first half, as you'd expect really. Degen has been decent, Babel bright in spells and N'Gog has worked very hard up top (I always say it, but I like him!). Riera should've scored. Spearing has struggled with the pace of the game at times.

poor half overall from us.

Babel looked good thats about it.

Come on, that's harsh. Leeds are bombing about, giving us no time, and we're rushing things. It's good play from Leeds. Babel's done well, Ngog has shown some good movement, Spearing has been calm and considered, Riera improved in the last ten minutes, Dossena hit a couple of great diagonal balls. These are matches in which the Premiership side will always look harrassed, but we've not been THAT bad.

fucking hell how quick is babel?! makes you wonder why he doesn't use his pace more often
i reckon it's harder to use it on the left, for a right footer.

Quite. It's heartbreaking to think he doesn't.

It was a poor half, there was no composure. Just becasue they are bombing about doesn't mean we have to rush things, this is where movement and simple passes come into play.

You make it sound so simple. No, not simple. Easy. That's it. You make it sound so easy.

Babel's done well, but his first touch has been appalling at times, he's lucky Leeds haven't been pouncing on the ball as soon as it's near him.

Riera came closest to scoring with the double header, has shown a nice touch but has frustrated a bit too.

N'Gog's initial close control has been excellent, it's once he gets into his stride and away from players that he seems to go a bit brainless and tends to be too heavy with his touch.

Defending setpieces once again woeful, and again at the weekend too, but there's no issue is there?? 🙁

Auerlio has mopped up well, funnily enough he's covered the right handside alot, particularly helping out Degen.

Degen has looked decent I've thought, quick and quite adept going forward, and tonight he's defended fairly decently too.

Carra a bit shaky to start with but has settled, while the Greek guy has looked good at both ends, got done all ends up though for the yellow card.

Spearing and Masher have broke well in the middle, same old from Masher who's a bit hit and miss with his passing, Spearing has done fairly well but dwells on the ball too much.

Dossena has done ok, some good stuff going forward, still the odd mistake in him at the back though.

Keeper is a bit hapless, indecisive at times and fucked up for the goal that was ruled out.

Only saw the last seven or eight minutes of that half, but I thought we looked quite good, considering it's basically a scratch side.

It is. I reckon he'd make it to Holland in a day and half, easy.

The great man once said "football is a simple game complicated by fools"

Not that I am saying you are a fool

Spearing has been average, but has shown he is very comfortable with the ball. Babel has been everything I'd want for him. We were starting to click, if we score early in the half I would hope our reserves would be chomping at the bit for fill their boots.

Me too Keniget, from the first game I've seen of Ngog I think he will make it for us, he just shows up and he has pace, strength, height, dribbles, and finishing. Could be a lot worse than having a year old back up striker with a decent amount of first team experience and an impressive 20 goals in 30 youth-team performances for the U-france teams.

spearing needs to stop going for glory get his fucking head up and pass the fucking ball. when we broke with 4 players and he shot at goal I could have killed him.

Wiley Watch: early on, Ngog (I think) was running into the area when a Leeds player smashed into him. It wasn't even deliberate, but it knocked him down. What did Wiley do? Gave a free kick against Ngog. Now how could he run ahead and foul a player who knocked him over? Insane decision. That set the tone.

he should be booting the ball past players and doing them for pace. you'd think someone would tell him this in training

wiley best moment was when rieria took a shot, the leeds player kicked riera's foot away but the leeds player got the free kick. gotta laugh.

great start, we carry on like this and it will turn out comfortabley.

Scrap that, poor defensive start we carry on like that and we will lose.
