Massive Zlatan is worth £100m

That goal (in the youtube clip) shoves all critics' words back into their own arses.

If Torres had scored that, everyone would be like 'Torres I want your babies, blah x1000' in a squeaky pansy's voice.

Anyone can score a good goal on their day.

What the critics say, myself included, is that despite his obvious talent, he fails to show it all too often against the big teams and has an attitude that stinks. He hasn't proven the critics 100% wrong yet.

Anyone who doesn't think he's better than all but 2 of our attacking players is incorrrect.

The problem with showing it against the big teams is it's much harder - otherwise they wouldn't be big teams. If he was good in big games but shite in away games in little windy pitches on Monday nights in December we'd all be saying he only plays when it's a big match but can't raise his game against the minnows.

Yeah what LTW says is why I'm not convinced yet. I'll change my mind if he consistently shows how good he is on a big stage. I've seen him play a fair bit, mostly big, important matches, and say 8 out of 10 of them he's been massively underwhelming. Fair enough if he does it against the weaker sides, he's still a good player, but when it comes to crunch time in the big games he needs to do more.

It looks as though that may be starting to change now, though.

On a sidenote, Phil Neville has won everything in the game at club level. Doesn't make him a superstar. Not that Ibrahimovic is down at Neville's level. Just shows that your medal collection isn't the best way to judge a player's ability.
Theres a world of difference between a player playing a bit part in a top side and picking up trophies like Neville or Traore, and a player playing......actually, cant be bothered.

Just scored. Again.
Scoring was never the issue - it was scoring in knock out games (I think 0 until last year, or in big games). Now that he's seemingly added this to his game, he's taken his 'name' to the next level in my opinion.

I think it will be a great testament to Zlatan if Milan can win silverware.

A real bomb too.

I'm sure I've asked this before, but I still don't get it really; what does "massive Zlatan" mean?
'Massive cunt', probably.
Oh. Why not just say that then?
He's class, even if he is a cunt.
His record is 2nd to none in world football. 9 titles in 10 years. 5 different clubs incredible.

I was never really a fan until recently.

And as Dreambeliever pointed out, 9 titles in 10 seasons is outstanding.

And he's played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barca, Milan.... fucking hell. 😱

To be fair, it's not that hard to pick up titles when you're playing for the best team in each league over those 10 years.

It's not like this was akin to Maradona dragging fucking Napoli to the title is it?

Yeah this. Although, you'd have to ask why the top clubs are interested in him in the first place.

Oncy, I wasn't saying that his medal collection is irrelevant, it isn't. He has done well, and is a good player. But one of the best players in the world? Nah. That's what I have trouble with.

Oh I agree, he's a quality player. I think his demeanour and attitude don't endear him to the average football fan, as a result - when he doesn't perform he gets picked apart by everyone.

Says something when the best team in 4 3 different countries come knocking. Season after season.

It's not like he stayed a club that dominated like Utd and won 9 titles there like say Giggs.

He's done it in every league that matters except England. His attitude stinks but who cares if signing him pretty much means your gonna win the league.

And it looks like he may do it again this year at Milan.

Yeah, as I said above, I'm not really arguing with any of that - I think he's quality.

haha, arf!

I'm pretty sure it's intended as derogatory against the poster on this board as much as anything. I seem to recall it originating around the time of their first epic tete-a-tete.

I think I saw someone on TLW transposing the words 'zlatan' and 'shit', and simply used that idea in relation to the player, the worst poster on this site that shares his name, and any derogatory word that fits. Like, for instance, 'cunt'

So it led to amusing exchanges like

'For fuck's sake Zlatan (poster) you are a massive zlatan (derogatory word)'

See?
Who are you, really?
This retort is wearing thin, Brendan. You've got better repetoire, you massive fucking Zlatan.

Sure he's a gifted footballer, I just don't like him. Especially his attitude. He has a history of causing trouble at every club he's played in. Recently he decided to start a fight with Onyewu.
Does he win any fights? Can he fight?

Zlatan for £18million is a bargain. Good luck charm or otherwise.

We're too lame to go for him, and he's probably too arrogant to come to us.

Before now he's been at the teams that are most expected to win the league. If he wins it with Milan then kudos to him. Although, I'd think that would have just as much to do with Inter's and Benitez's capitulation than with anything else.
