Markovic

Write Markovic off after playing a full season in his natural position. If he stinks I'll join the bandwagon.

Why? Because he costs £20million? If he is not good enough let's move him on. The opportunity cost is too high.

Imagine if he were here last season and we persisted with him just because. We would have never known if Ibe is the next Sterling or not because Markovic will be playing in his place. Come this season Markovic would have been sold for a pittance and Ibe would not be worth £15million to anyone.

I don't think he can play wide which is a problem. He is not a beat the fullback with tricks and cross or cut inside and take a shot type of player. He is a number 10 and given the high number of 10s in our squad, he is not going to get much chances.

...... or we might no longer care about Ibe as Markovic had proved himself to be a 40m player.

It's not that simple. Markovic didn't play a huge number of games but he impressed their fans in the games he did play. Some of them were quoted as having called him the best foreign signing the club had ever made. I can understand why Klopp and his coaching team would want to take a look at Markovic for themselves.

They must have a lot of Arns, because he scored 0 goals in the league, made a grand total of 20 appearances, got injured in February, and didn't play again.

Who was their second-best foreign signing? Ali Dia?

Which in all honesty makes his signing even more strange. Not his fault obviously.

He played every game for Fenerbache last season as right winger.

When we bought him, Benfica fans were really upset. Called him the biggest talent they had in ages and significantly better than Di Maria.

Heard some contrasting views on him though - yours is one version, the other is that he's totally meh. It's a mystery.

But the fact that Fenerbahce didn't exercise the option to buy him might tell a story. And so far he has been really meh in preseason, being outshone by other youngsters.

It's not looking too good for him.

We do this thing over and over again where we spend serious cash on a player, and then seem to put every effort into setting them up for failure.

That's clearly changing under Klopp thankfully.

Fenerbahce aren't the smartest club, they've made tons of questionable signings over the years.

Weak player in mind and body but young enough to stick with.

He has the attributes to be a success.

Yes, he been badly handled at Liverpool. Rodgers used him as a part of his war against the committee. He played him out of position as a fullback just to show that I don't want him and if you force me to play him then this will happen..

He also played Ibe and Sterling at wing back. Also part of his war with the committee?

I refuse to believe someone who had no idea how to insert 'synonymous' into a sentence was crafty enough to formulate an agenda.

Why is not worth knowing if Markovic is the next Sterling.

It seems to me you have made your mind up on this subject based on very little evidence and you are just trying rationalize your stand.

Far less talented players have been given a lot more chances in their position before being written off.....Downing, Lucas, Moreno...the list is very long.

Markovic is obviously a talented young footballer so now it is down to him to grab his chance working with a strong coaching team. If he wants to develop to be a Liverpool player the way Klopp wants remains to be seen. A front page of a newspaper were they admit that the Sporting coach have made no or little contact with Pool is just normal hysteric journalism. And people here throwing their verdict on him based on nothinh is pretty much the same without being journalism. Klopp can make a player out of him if he is willing to do the job demanded.

Seen very little of him so far in preseason, what I've heard is he's not stepping up his application and isn't showing any great desire. Are his days numbered? I hoped he would seize this preseason by the scruff of its neck and give it a fecking good shake, but people that I know that have properly watched him don't seem impressed.
