Mane's Form..

He was in the dressing room, where his abnormally heavy breathing sucked an undue amount of oxygen out of the room, which could have partially asphyxiated the players who did go out onto the pitch.
We are looking for reasons to kick him hard in the face while down, and this is as good as any.

So far this season it has been very clear that Salah gets lots of help down the right from one of the CMs. Initially this was Elliot, Saturday it was Hendo. Mane doesn't get a lot of this, often Jota is moving into that space a bit, along with the LB but that then takes an option out of the middle. Would be interesting to see how he does if a CM spent more time on an overload. However - maybe this is a good decision as it means Salah / Trent are better able to whip a ball in and Mane is great in the air.

I think Robbo/Tsimikas and Thiago/Naby might have something to say about that!

I expect Mane to improve even further as Dazzling Bobby is back. Mane was already on the upward curve without him. I saw enough bits and pieces in the Brentford game and I guess Firmino in the team should be a brilliant news for Mane.

I thought I would post it here, before someone randomly posts "I had always told you so" about Mane.

Upward curve? Echo scored him 4/10 against Brentford and that was about right.

I'd love to see the 19/20 Mane again but this is an 18 month funk ... and that may be that.

So what’s that now 4 goals in 7 games?

Even when he doesn't score he's a threat, I don't get the fickle noise. People going on about Sancho in the summer but I'm sorry Mane is at least a threat even when hes 'playing badly' by his own standards.

Sancho 7 games, 0 goals, 0 assists.
Mane 8 games 4 goals

Exactly...but even without that Sancho comparison I feel some people only rate a forward if he's constantly scoring goals...I get that a forwards job is to score but surely there's more to being a forward especially if your all round contribution is generally good. And how many goals had Firmino scored in comparison to Mane... Firmino gets way less stick.

I’m one of his biggest fans but will admit his ability to slow a player down and then burst past him with pace seems to have gone but he’s still a huge player for us. He’s trying a bit to hard at the moment but he’s still one of the first names on the team sheet for me.
His attitude effort is second to none.

Yeah, I kind think that his biggest value to us at the moment is that he's a nuisance for opposition defenders. Maybe makes it a bit easier for our other attackers.
