You introduced the Covid nonsense here.
He had a mild case nesrly a year ago.
We're just seeing a natural decline here, the injections he needs aren't vaccines , its PEDs
I could use some PEDs too, tbf.

Would anyone be happy giving him an extension like we’re offering the others?
Yes but only another 2 years to 2025.Would anyone be happy giving him an extension like we’re offering the others?
At the time, those posts were correct. Mane had a bigger impact than Salah in several important games. The final we lost against Madrid was basically Mane Vs Madrid.Usually on the forum, Brendan or Ross would go dig up old posts from posters saying Mane was more important than Salah.
Salah has always been our #1 attacker and will continue to be. It would be nice to get some cover for Mane who has lost his edge a little bit.

Mane has started ok, scored last game, and it was his shot being handled on the line.
If that is his goal, how does it look then? 2 goals out of 3 games.
I was also on that bandwagon. I wasn’t man enough to admit it.Go watch Mane against Barca when Salah was out.
What ?! He was almost as bad in the first two as well. 7/10 my arse. He was lucky to get a pair of 6s.He's given 7/10 performances in first 2 games and now a 5/6.....he never used to play below an 8.
It was his Anfield debut as a just turned 18 year old. I can't blame him for deferring to senior players. But yes he could have tried something himself, I'm sure that will come once he's settled in.I thought Elliot was boss yesterday, but besides that early shot he was always looking for Salah or TAA to deliver the final ball, when he was often in a better position himself.
Solution: Drop Mane for Elliot, we've got plenty of midfield options, forces Elliot to take more control, gives Mane the kick up the arse he clearly needs right now.

I am thinking on the similar lines. I was disappointed that Elliott should have tried a Coutinho shot from outside the box. At times he was given space and although the box was crowded, he had chances on the edge of the box where he preferred playing out side instead of taking a shot. Now this is all in hindsight and would not have been a discussion, had for example Jota scored that header which he put over the bar. But I would like Elliott to try once or twice to add that unpredictability to his game.I thought Elliot was boss yesterday, but besides that early shot he was always looking for Salah or TAA to deliver the final ball, when he was often in a better position himself.

I wanna try Jones in the Mane role
He can take a man on, shoot, play a killer pass. Surely offers more than MinaminoI think he fits well there.
Gives him more freedom, play to his instincts.
And unfortunately probably still not as effective as off peak Mane as well.Minamino’s better games have all come when he was playing in the LW role, so he is surely another option - very different player to Mane, of course, so if he were to start getting some serious minutes, our whole tactical structure would need a rejig, but that’s a possibility.
Jones - yeah, I can see him in that position too. They are all “good” options worth considering, but obviously nothing close to what a peak Mane would give you.
It might be worth giving a try, even if it was only to give Sadio a kick up the arse. Though he doesn't come across as the type pf player that either needs or benefits from one.

I don't think we are disagreeing. Effective might have been a poor choice of words but even an off form Mane would still, in all likelihood, create more goals, assists and chances than his potential replacements.Nah, I don't think he is that type. For what it's worth, I still think he will turn it around and find his form again. I always thought out of our front 3 Bobby will be the one that declines first and sharpest, while Mane can play and be good well past 30. We'll see if I'm proven right.
Well, that's debatable. Against Chelsea and parts of the game vs Burnley Mane was pretty much losing the ball every time he got it – that's not "effective" by any measure and surely can be improved on. I do agree that even when off form or slower he's still overall a better attacking player than either Jones or Minamino, but only if he adjusts his game accordingly and stops continuously running into blind alleys, which just hurts the team.
