Can't be arsed going through the match-thread, but I thought they may have been some contact on the knees which was difficult to assess, but maybe not. I can fully see why the Ref gave it though. If it was a dive, it was perfectly done.

In fairness he did effectively apologise in his post match interview; he said it was a mistake, but then responded "no" when asked if he regretted it - but I read the latter more as a misunderstandign of the quesiton.

Lets make a huge campaign for killing all spontanity, emotions and passion in football. We want a strict rule of accepted behaviours, and for anyone crossing that (rather dull) line should be punished hard. We dont want to be provoked in any sense and we will not tolerate opposition to enjoy their victories. If they do they are pricks!!!

In a way I've some sympathy with that, but the difficulty with that type of behaviour simply being tolerated is that sometimes it's going to work. We then have to either follow suit or let other clubs gain an advantage. On balance I'd prefer it to be stamped out to begin with.

I dont think it works that way. We would have argued a red card if it was Kompany, while on 3-0 I would not have worried anyway. However they are to play us shortly again.

It's not the done thing in the parks around England, but they love imaginary cards in Italy. It's normal to him.
All players wave cards and nothing is done anymore. Its a forgotten initiative.
