Man United thoughts

He's clearly trying to flog that pile of shit. He's the only player I've ever seen who stops his run and passes back with a sense of panache and flair. Watch that asshole, he does a little skip while doing it the fucking eunuch.

Hahaha. Know exactly what you mean.

I watched the game with an ardent Man U supporter. After the first goal, which he screamed at the top of his voice, full on lung explosion, he expected a massacre of at least 3 or more, as the game progressed. We were so poor. I had no energy or even scrotal gumption to refute him. I feared for the worst and was looking for a hole to dive into (not the hole someone here suggested for Suarez). Our midfield were so disjointed it is unbelievable.

Well we were lucky not to concede anymore before half time. Second half started and just as I fear, another goal. I was like thinking, how many more before I crawl away, slinking in utter embarrassment. We hardly had a shot in the first half and the beginning of second half was no better. Until Sturridge scored, we were limp like a floppy drying flower.

Wonders of wonders, after the goal, we actually played and gave them a game. My friend could not believe it. He lost interest in it after that and was looking at his mobile, whatever for I have no idea. He was biting his nails with fear!

I would be embarrassed to win the game, and a draw would have been lucky for us. How long will it take BR to learn offense is the better defense against MU?

I don't think we are being drip fed bullshit at all - a dose of the realities of modern football perhaps?

The last team we had that was capable of challenging at the very top is gone - even the players from it that remain don't seem capable of playing at the same level - age & injuries taking their toll on a few.

There are only a finite number of owners around that could provide the amount of money to push a team to the top.

Widely held view is that our current owners had enough for one big transfer window splurge and it was blown on players who don't contribute anywhere near enough.

There is no magic wand. We have the finances to buy good players - but they'll either be too old so as to question their value or too young to significantly improve us immediately, so it's a long term strategy.

As Ross and a few others have continuously pointed out - there is little point spending bucket loads on older players in their prime to improve us immediately because in a few years we'll need to spend a similar amount just to replace them. We don't have the finances - its that simple.

Despite Gerrard's doubts, it's crystal clear that our plan is to focus on buying players under the age of 23 and develop them into decent players that we can either mold in to a top team or sell for funds.

The compelling argument is that great teams that have not been simply bought have come about through young players coming through the ranks together and have been molded into a successful unit by years of playing together under a similar style or philosophy.

We're about 2 years away at the moment.

We've been 'two or three players' and 'two years away' from getting it right for 20 years.
I see no problem in buying older players, you always have to replace them. I don't understand that argument at all. What a MacAllister type player would do for this team right now would be ideal.
It's all opinions though eh?

If only Dalglish had of thought of it then you wouldn't have to get you knickers in a twist over Rodgers every weekend, eh?

Well done for spotting the lazy conceit and adopting it. You won't be the last, but I can guarantee you my contempt for you won't be diminished by that fact.

I think Gary Mac was the ultimate example though, cos he was free & didn't demand sky high wages.

Anyone who says they thought he'd have the impact he did is a fucking liar.

The harsh truth is the majority of older players will be looking for one last payday so their wages will be high & their value to the team on the pitch little more than a younger player will bring with no resale value.

Now if we didn't have Gerrard & carra I'd be more inclined to like the idea, as villa are at the moment, all kids & no real senior figure. We have that senior figure.

Now if you could guarantee a signing like Gary Mac it's a no brainer, but that's highly unlikely, very highly unlikely, & with a restriction on wages it's a gamble we can't afford to take at the moment.

I have supported Liverpool since 1965, but no goal ever gave me so much satisfaction and sheer joy, than Gary Mac's free kick winner at Goodison Park. 🙂

You don't seem to enjoy posting here these days. Every post is some bitter denial, or repugnant moan.

Why don't you just leave?

Thanks for quoting that primordial fuckwit. Perhaps you can point out to him - maybe via Sesame Street characters or simple cartoon images - for the upteenth time that he's on ignore. Then maybe he can end his sad obsession and go back to wanking kangaroos or whatever else he does with his time.

Wanking kangaroos can be difficult. Nowadays it's illegal unless you can produce a certificate that you have passed the course run by an authorised training institute.

^^^That's just pretty tragic really.

If not for 6CM then for Rodney?

Jon - I got a private message warning from one of your mod colleagues yesterday for calling Dreamy a "moron".

Can you please do something about the horrendous, unwarranted abuse I've just been subjected to above? Cos I'm upset.

Proper answer is that he's a miserable hypocrite but each to their own!

He can be amusing at times though.
