Agree in 8 minutesishMane without a doubt. Wonderful all night, calm and carrying threat. Great goal. Great outball. Has carried the other two tonight.
Virgil. The full backs have been dreadful and Virgil has had to martial the defence, which basically means winning everything. Good stuff
Henderson. Been quiet and calm in the middle. Id be surprised if hes missplaced more than one pass.
Mention for Lovren who has been assured and stood up well to a bombardment from wide all night.
Regardless of result that aint changing my thoughtsAgree in 8 minutesish
Hendo could have scored 4 own goalsRegardless of result that aint changing my thoughts
To be fair, firmino got an assist, so he wasn't irredeemably bad.Mane, Henderson, Virgil and Robbo were the pick
Karius was flawed, as was Lovren
Firmino and TAA were fucking shite
However he also missed two clear penalties for us :Ref was shite; don't think it was a penalty on Klavan, but he missed 2 clear penalties (and possible sendings off) against us, so overall we probably benefited from his mistakes.
DisagreeTAA doesn't play well against wingers cutting inside.
I wouldn't feel confident if Ronaldo pulled out wide and attacked him. He seems to let players just come in and shoot on their strongest foot. It's harsh to drop him, but I don't really care about feelings, he's young and will come again, I care about winning. So I'd go with Clyne if fit.
Sane cutting inside on his weakest foot isn't as much of a threat. Trent has struggled against Rashford, Zaha and El Shwa now. Thank God he doesn't have to deal with Ribery.Disagree
Sane likes to cut inside, and he shit him down easily
He was getting zero protection from Salah, and the midfield left him alone frequently too
Desperately poor tonight, but he has it in his locker
It appears that Trent struggles with the big man up top and pacy winger. Dzeko/sharawaay, benteke/zaha, Lukaku/rashfordSane cutting inside on his weakest foot isn't as much of a threat. Trent has struggled against Rashford, Zaha and El Shwa now. Thank God he doesn't have to deal with Ribery.
And even if you want to say he had a good game against City, I'd argue Sane had 2 big moments/goals (across both legs) ruled out. The one Jesus scored which I'm not sure was offside, and one in the 2nd leg (2nd half) where he got in behind and I'm not sure he was offside there either. Let alone the disallowed goal he scored.
Trent is wonderful going forward. His delivery and passing is excellent. But defensively, his one on one defending isn't great, especially against right footed left wing forwards. I totally agree with you about the lack of support from Salah, but he got some from Wini, and even then he wasn't good in the 1 v 1 duel.

I don't think it's the wingers ability, rather than His positional sense. Perhaps when lovren moves to close someone down, trents arse goes a bit
His other major issue is that he often loses his man under a high cross and cant recover. Id be fairly certain Madrid will target him and have Ronaldo play just off his shoulder. Defensively he still has massive gaps in his game. Which is not ideal for a defender. That was a Moreno level preformance tonight
This.Mane
Virgil

That's what many were saying ahead of the City matches. He'll be boss in the finalTAA doesn't play well against wingers cutting inside.

Yep, same for me. Very hard to know what order to place them in, but I think I'll go along with this.Mane
