I actually didn't think Gerrard was overly brilliant, particularly in the first half but his 2 goals, in the week that's in it, and his sheer determination earns him a spot.
Also, an honourable mention to Sakho, who is worth a place in the starting 11 ahead of Lovern.

I had Markovic in the running for a while but that missed chance towards the end was unforgiveable. He needs shooting practice and lots of it.

1. Sakho - the kind of game where we needed to dig in and he led the process, plus this player who allegedly can't pass pinged one amazing forward diagonal ball to Manquillo which Stevie G himself would have been proud of;
2. Lucas - excellent game, got stuck in and recycled the ball well when he won it;
3. Gerrard - like nealmac above I didn't think his performance over the game as a whole was particularly amazing, but his goals get him a top three spot, just ahead of Coutinho.
