VVD did well I thought. The initial mistake was just one of those where he got caught up in the atmosphere early on. It was Karius' fault more than anything, he should have taken the pressure off us early, but he started fucking around and not listening to his back line, who were telling him to go long. One fuck up and a sliced clearance doesn't tell the full story, he cleared fucking anything that came in, in the air. Him and Lovren were largely magnificent.

What is a pretty damning verdict of City over the two legs, and they are a tremendously talented side, is how much their game seemed reliant on the switch from the right, to Sane on the left. Every time they had the ball they were looking to play him in. It seemed to take the focus away from the rest of their attacking talent. And when you consider that he was brilliantly marshaled by TAA across both legs, it was a one dimensional approach for such an expensive side.
