What is a pretty damning verdict of City over the two legs, and they are a tremendously talented side, is how much their game seemed reliant on the switch from the right, to Sane on the left. Every time they had the ball they were looking to play him in. It seemed to take the focus away from the rest of their attacking talent. And when you consider that he was brilliantly marshaled by TAA across both legs, it was a one dimensional approach for such an expensive side.

And Sane was caught offside for about 70% of these. Klopp doesn't get enough credit about how adept the defensive line has become at using the offside trap. This has killed City attacks time and time again.
