the bottom line is, if liverpool were a team that held a higher line and pressed the opposition more johnnson would be spending more time in the opposition half where his attacking ability would shine, and less time in our half where is defensive ability is being exploited.
roy has often been fielding two holding midfielders but because were defending so deep and conceeding most of the possession the defenders are being tested time and time again needlessly, even the likes of carra are looking dubious.

More or less spot on.
Johnson for me is one of the clubs greatest assets. Yes he can improve defensively (and overall as well for that matter) but everyone with half a brain would rekognize his talent.
He needs to be played to his strengths though and untill we as a team are more attacking-minded he'll struggle as has a lot of our players mind.
For all his weaknesses he's still been one of few players we can still rely on to create something when going forward and he's still been far better than say Konchesky on the other side.
Alongside Reina, Carra, Agger, Gerrard, Cole, Kuyt and Torres he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. Really hope we don't sell him.

How many games has Konchesky played, Kris? He's played a couple and been struggling with injury, I think I've seen Magic have one decent game this season.

I know about Konchesky just coming in mate and beeing injured. But he's at least familiar with the Premiership and yet has still managed to look so much out his depths it's been worrying.
You say Johnson haven't played more than one good game so far which I think is right. But on the other hand has anyone in the team managed more than that at this stage? People need to realize that when the team is suffering as an unit the players will most certainly do as well. Also why Konchesky has probably looked so poor. And many others too.
I'm positive we'll see a completely different team come Everton when it comes to belief and morale. The off-field shenanigans has taken it's toll on everyone from manager to players and I'm sure with Red Sox coming in we'd instantly see improvements everywhere.

Ha, I hope you're right, but I think that's very optimistic.
I'm not going to join a discussion about who has been more shit this season. It's just too depressing.

It IS very optimistic mate but that's really the only way forward at this stage in my opinion. The ownership-issue seems to be reaching a closure and we can hopefully move upwards and onwards from this day on. The players, manager et all will gain confidence from this and there'll hopefully be a bit of crisp and positive Autumn air surrounding Liverpool these comming months instead of that gravy-like pessimism-infested twat-air of late.
