Mad Mane

Mane was our best player last season, so I'm not sure why so many people are combining "I told you so" snark with having a full blown eppy.

He's ace.
Yeh, it's pretty bizarre, even during this "dip" he's scoring goals and is one of the best wingers in the league, he's just not as good as Salah is at the moment, but let's be honest, no one in the league currently is.

Klopp saying he's been a bit down since the miss against Everton. But is ready to work and will be back in shape soon after two games were he's been a bit "off".

Kind of contradicts that something else is going on, and since I sold Mane on FF he'll deffo score a brace tomorrow.

He's coming back from an injury that if not managed correctly or overworked could ruin his pace, so is playing within himself & when he is playing with Salah he doesn't play in his favoured position, making it harder for him to score the goals he's normally so good at.

I'm not worried in the slightest, considering those facts he is actually overperforming imo.

If Salah had suffered the same injury and endured the same 'medical treatment' from the club as Mane did, then his carer would be pushing him around in a wheelchair and/or sarcophagus, it'd be the end. Mane has done extremely well to recover and be anywhere close to resembling the player he was before the 'incident'.

'Mo is faster than me... but I'm so happy to be in this attack'

Sadio Mane is happy to concede his position as the fastest man in Liverpool's attack to Mohamed Salah – because he is delighted by the impact the latter has had on the team.

The Senegal international has regularly been the Reds’ chief speedster since joining the club from Southampton in 2016, with his pace on and off the ball a constant threat to opponents.

Fresh competition in that particular field arrived in the form of Salah last summer, though, and the new No.11’s fleet-footedness led to comparisons between their velocities on the pitch.

“I think he’s quicker than me! Mo is quicker than me!” says Mane in the latest edition of the official Liverpool FC magazine, which features an exclusive interview with the 25-year-old.

“Mo hasn’t tried to have a race with me yet but he is also very quick. He has great speed and gives a lot to the team… but we must also try to do our best to help him score many more goals.

“Honestly, we attack a lot in this team and we can always score many goals. I am very happy to be part of this great attacking team and play alongside so many great players.”

It has been a week of awards for Salah, who edged out Mane – among others – to claim the BBC African Footballer of the Year accolade for 2017 on Monday.

He pocketed the club’s Goal of the Month and Standard Chartered Player of the Month prizes the following day, before completing a fine set with the Premier League’s Player of the Month honour too after scoring eight goals in six appearances in November.

“I’m very happy to have Mo in our team. He is a great player and a great personality. I always enjoy playing with him in the team and the other boys too,” Mane said of his teammate.

“It is easy to play alongside great players like Mo. We just need to be in the same team all season so we can get to know each other better so that it is easier for us in games, so we can do things in the game.”

Mane will definitely be back against arsenal. Quality player who is just having a dip in form. In during the dip he looks dangerous.

Salah’s going to be marked more and more in games. When Mane’s on form however, Salah’s distraction will become an advance for us.
We won’t get top 4 without Mane, I’m certain of that.
Hope he gets back into form.

Teams can't really mark Salah. Firstly his pace is fucking rapid so he'll leave you for pace. Secondly if you focus too much on him then you're leaving a big space for players like mane and coutinho. Is the same problem teams have when playing city. Too many attacking outlets leaves you fucked so you just try and play deep and park the bus.

Your second point is precisely what I’m saying

LFCTV is currently running a show about Mane at home, where he's interviewed by some face-slappable, jean-holed Londoner Sasha Baron Cohen-type bloke who appears to have escaped from Arsenal's band of Jafaiken YouTube dweebs (was he REALLY all that LFC could get???).

Things you learn about Mane:

He has pictures of himself on the wall.

He has a restaurant-style kitchen area with his own chef.

He says he only has two friends who visit him.

His favourite player growing up was...El Hadji Diouf.

He gets on well with Keita, and they're talking about the club all the time.

He appears to be very happy in a Dalai Lama constantly giggling way.

Er, that's it.

Too bad him and Rodgers missed each other at LFC. They could have been portrait buddies...

Salah says that Mane is probably his closest friend in LFC squad right now and they have an excellent relationship.
