Perhaps the obvious solution to this is to a deal for £45m or so with £10m more dependent on them qualifying for the CL. Would seem reasonable. £10m is 1/3 of the CL revenue, and the chances of us missing out due to Suarez are surely more remote than that, so it seems like a good deal for us.
Or is that too logical to actually happen?
Well, it's not that simple in my mind.
The difference between Arsenal and us finishing 4th season is really 60m. That's the financial difference it will make between us and them. If we make it because we didn't sell to Suarez, then it's 30 extra to us and 30m less to Arsenal. So 60m difference, you're not going to get an add-on to cover this risk.
Add to this his actual or perceived value as a player and I would rather sell him for 40m to Real, plus add-ons, than for 55m to Arsenal.
We would be selling him for more than one season I'm afraid, so it would seem more like 16-17m per 10-12 extra points a season, and if the bitey cunt can pull off a few extra ridiculous dribbles or shots from insane angles that turns 6 draws into 6 wins then Yes, I reckon he is worth it as we would make more than that back from the group stages of thE CL and extra sponsorship. Selling him to Arsenal would increase the gap. Livepool FC needs to be in the CL, it is not an 'also ran' club.Hard to really know, but I imagine he could be worth an extra 10-12, he's the kind of player they've needed for a while. Is the 10-12 worth 50m? All depends on how the other teams get on I suppose.
According Graham Hunter, Suarez is RMs 2nd choice behind Bale.
For the first time ever I hope Bale stays at Spurs, cause I really dont want to sell Suarez to Arsenal.

Luis Suarez would be happy for the Premier League to step in and settle his contract-clause dispute with Liverpool such is the conviction of the player and his agent, Pere Guardiola, that they are in the right.
The League may offer to mediate in the row between Liverpool and Arsenal, and the player’s camp are understood to welcome independent arbitration stressing that both verbal and written assurances were given in the renegotiation of the Uruguayan striker’s contract last summer.
Guardiola maintains that it is Liverpool who have changed their position on allowing Suarez to leave for a bid of over £40m. Arsenal are confident that the Merseyside club will ultimately allow them to speak to Suarez and believe they are currently stalling in the hope that other clubs enter the race.
Brendan Rofgers believes Luis Suarez would be making a big mistake if he left Liverpool to join Arsenal.
The Reds boss, who is battling to keep hold of the prolific Uruguay striker, has questioned why anyone would want to quit Anfield and move to the Emirates.
Liverpool rejected an improved offer of £40million plus £1 from Arsenal on Tuesday with Rodgers insisting that figure is “significantly” short of their valuation of last season's 30-goal top scorer.
Suarez, who arrived in Thailand with the squad yesterday, has been informed that Liverpool won't consider granting him a move until there is a bid on the table which represents his true value.
Arsenal can offer Champions League football but Rodgers is trying to convince Suarez to snub their interest.
The Northern Irishman expects Liverpool to be competing with the Londoners at the top end of the Premier League this season and desperately wants Suarez around to lead the charge.
He said: “I know what we are trying to build and grow, so why would you swap Liverpool to go to Arsenal?
“I am not sure that it adds up to be honest. Arsenal has a wonderful history in its own right, but Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“Okay, we might not be in the Champions League and haven’t been for a while now, but our competitors have grown around us and we have to step up to the challenge now.
“Would it be a mistake for Luis to leave? 100%. The team was built around Luis last season.
“I made some big calls to get the team to work in a way to suit his strengths and it is no coincidence he had a great season apart from the end bit. We would love to have him to continue the next phase.”
Liverpool were given another warm reception on their arrival in Bangkok for the final leg of their pre-season tour. Suarez is expected to line up against Thailand on Sunday before the squad return to the UK.
“It is difficult for Luis, I understand that,” Rodgers said.
“If a team wants you, it can be difficult, but I am not sure many teams will have done what we have done in the last couple of games. I am sure Luis will have seen the sheer size and status of the club on this trip.
“But it is not something we want to run on too long. It is something that can’t run on too long.”
Rodgers refused to be drawn on whether Suarez submitting a transfer request would force Liverpool's hand.
However, the manager praised the club's principal owner John W Henry and chairman Tom Werner for their hardline stance throughout the summer-long saga.
“Luis is under contract so I haven’t even thought about that (a transfer request),” Rodgers said.
“If a player tells you he really wants to go then you have to look at it.
“But it is a situation we are in control of because he has three years left on his contract. Unless something changes or there is an offer which is heavily increased, he is still very much a Liverpool player.
“I can categorically say the owners have been brilliant throughout this process. The board and club has stayed very strong. It is very simple - we don’t want to sell one of our top players.
“We will continue to work on improving our squad rather than breaking it up.”
We should just refuse to sell him to Arsenal at any price. Simple as that.
I just hope that LFC and it's board continue to have bigger balls than you and those who share your flip flops.I used to be in the "not to Arsenal" camp but I couldn't care less now.
Just want him gone.
I just hope that LFC and it's board continue to have bigger balls than you and those who share your flip flops.
I don't mind him going to Arsenal as long as we spend the money wisely. This Soldado chap doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. It's a short term signing, and that's only any good if we're going to get CL in return, and IMO we have only a tiny chance of doing that unless we spend seriously big. If that's the strategy fine, but if not, the money spent won't be enough, which means it'll be wasted again and we'll be here in 3 years with a 31 year old striker who's lost £20m of his value and us still no closer to challenging.
It's handing your opponent your sharpest weapon. It could very well work out cheaper to let let him play with reserves and try to recuperate purchase price next year than letting the bitey cunt help them take our place in the CL.If Arsenal offer us £50 million, I'd sell.
