Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

Yes, but I think the crucial thing for us is to make it clear - privately - that after a certain time in the summer, that's it. We either let him go if an early offer comes in or we stand firm and move on, because Real will almost certainly wait until the last minute as they did with Owen. Hopefully that's what was made clear to Guardiola.

Agreed, Ive said from the start the club should make all parties aware this deal does or doesnt happen on our timeline. I would suggest that window should be closing rapidly, if he is still at the club when the pre season tour concludes, that should be the end of the matter

Phil McNulty still wants to leave the BBC, says his agent

It is believed that his agent is expect to tell the BBC that they are not a big enough organisation to match his talent and ambitions. It is not known when or where the meeting will take place. It has long been understood that McNulty has felt that the BBC have been holding back his career. A BBC spokesman offered no comment.

I'm sure that was dealt with when they gave Suarez until 22nd July to sort himself. I don't think that there'll be any last minute Real shenanigans like we've previously had. I would like to think that the club has learnt their lesson and will dig their heels in to demand 50M at the very least with enough time to get in a suitable replacement and not a panic buy like Carroll was.

Liverpool FC striker Luis Suarez
Liverpool have held constructive talks with Luis Suarez's agent as speculation over the striker's future rumbles on.
Pere Guardiola flew to Merseyside to meet Reds managing director Ian Ayre at the club's city centre offices yesterday before heading for Melwood to see manager Brendan Rodgers.
The ECHO understands that the dialogue was both “positive” and “amicable”.
Anfield officials have always enjoyed a good working relationship with the agent, who is the brother of new Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, and that remains the case.
There was no backtracking from the agent following Suarez's public declarations in South America that he would jump at the opportunity to quit English football this summer and sign for Real Madrid.
However, no transfer request was submitted by Guardiola – a sign that his Uruguayan client, who is on holiday following the Confederations Cup, is not currently prepared to try to force through a move.
During the discussions both Ayre and Rodgers reiterated the club's position that they want Suarez to stay at Anfield and aren't interested in selling the 26-year-old, who is under contract for a further three years.
Guardiola's trip to Merseyside came just hours after it emerged that Liverpool had rejected a £30million offer for Suarez from Arsenal.

However, the ECHO understands the timing was simply a coincidence with yesterday's talks having already been scheduled before the Gunners made their approach.
Guardiola gave no indication to Liverpool that a move to the Emirates would interest Suarez, who has always insisted that his treatment at the hands of the UK press was his pressing reason for wanting to part company with the Reds.
Sources in London suggest Arsenal are highly unlikely to increase their offer.
Having became frustrated in their attempts to wrap up a £23million deal with Real Madrid for Gonzalo Higuain, Arsene Wenger has been looking at alternative striking options with the Gunners having also contacted Manchester United recently over Wayne Rooney.
However, Arsenal's bid for Suarez was instantly dismissed and they have been left in no doubt that Liverpool aren't interested in selling their prized asset, especially to one of their domestic rivals.
The Reds, who value Suarez at around £45million to £50million, are keen to ensure that the speculation doesn't drag on until the end of the transfer window.
But with Real Madrid yet to firm up their interest and with no guarantees they would prepared to stump up that kind of fee, a resolution to the summer-long saga appears to be some way off.
Suarez is due back from his holidays on July 22 and is expected to be involved in the Melbourne and Bangkok legs of the club's pre-season tour.
The importance of retaining Suarez's services has increased after Liverpool missed out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, their top summer transfer target.
The attacking midfielder has agreed a four-year deal with Borussia Dortmund who will pay Shakhtar Donetsk around £21million.
Meanwhile, Reds midfielder Jay Spearing is considering interest from Blackburn Rovers.
The Championship outfit have agreed in principle a £1.75million deal for the 24-year-old but they have to sell a player – most likely full-back Martin Olsson – in order to finance the transfer.
As Blackburn look to free up sufficient cash, Spearing is waiting to discover if there are any other offers on the table as he would ideally want to stay in the Premier League.

And yet McNulty for the BBC has a similar article where the talks reiterated that he wants to leave.

WITH.NO.QUOTES.....

That BBC thing wasn't me. It's one of a zillion comments on the latest BBC story about how Phil McNulty is a dick.

Hoy por hoy son dos o tres las opciones que hay y el club lo sabe (Liverpool) @luis16suarez en @sport890.

These are obviously translated quotes so take it with a pinch of salt

To Uruguay radio station Sport 890, Suarez said: “There have been no offers yet, but Liverpool know exactly what is going on and what I want.”

He added: “My agent is in charge, he knows what I want, I am resting and relaxed. I am due back in about ten days, on the 21st of July (for the friendly with Melbourne Victory)… a phone call could change everything.”

On reported interest from fellow Premier League clubs, Suarez said: “Is good to know that I am still valued by teams like Arsenal. Friends call me up to ask if I am moving to Chelsea, to which I laugh.”

Suarez also warned: “Don’t believe everything you read or hear! I am sometimes off the grid. I don’t even know where my phone is sometimes.

Would be really interesting, say, if Arsenal came up with a £50million offer. Would Suarez go because they could offer Champions League?

Phil McNulty ‏@philmcnulty 2m
@DominicKing_DM And if they did, you could see Chelsea doing exactly same. How could he square that with everything he's said about England?

Dominic King ‏@DominicKing_DM 2m
@philmcnulty Exactly. Cavani gave the game away: he wants to play in the Champions League. He should just come out and say that.

@DominicKing_DM Think Suarez will be sweating if it gets late in day and no deal is on the table. Can see Chelsea chancing their arm then.

He should just shut up and stop talking. He's a fantastic player but if a bid comes in from Real I'd sell him.
To much hassle no matter how good he is on the pitch.

That said, a transfer to another Premier League team is out of the question.

Suarez moving to another English Club would be too much to take. We shouldn't even consider it regardless of how much £ is on offer.

40 mill + Lukaku sounds tempting though.....
But I agree.

Nah fuck that mate. Lakaku looks a great prospect but Suarez is our best player by a mile, is in his peaks years and we're struggling to keep up with the top 5 or 6 teams as it is.

To see him in a Real Madrid shirt would be bad enough but Arsenal or Chelsea or another Prem League team would imo be the final nail in the coffin for LFC. Might seem way OTT but that's the way I see it.

Well, yeah. I don't think anything has changed for Suarez - he wants to leave.

I guess right now we're just waiting to see if Real or whoever will meet our valuation.

I do hope we stand firm and give the interested parties a deadline as Macca said.
