Luis Suarez pwned by the Lizards and is Staying, and has said sorry to BR and teammates

It'd be nice if we kept it a bit quieter than that. Did Rodgers really need to say any more than "We will deal with it internally"?

Giving the press more quotes to publish is just fanning the flames and dragging us down into a tit for tat situation.

Normally I would agree with your post but Suarez made the interview personal. It was a direct attack on Brendan. I think Brendan has the right to respond to that in a way he deemed fit.

I think that's just bluster. If Arsenal offer enough we'll take it.

I think we will if Arsenal break the British transfer record by a decent amount 55m plus. But I cannot see Arsenal breaking the British transfer record.

Yeah, agreed. He's called the manager out and he had to respond directly.
I think BR's reply was quite measured, all told.

We sold Torres to Chelsea, as much of a rival as Arsenal, for the right money.

Ignore all this hysterical panting about "not selling to rivals". If we get the right amount of cash from Arsenal, he is gone.

It's not really hysterical panting.
Utd, City & Chelsea are rich and spend the money on fees and wages.
They are 1,2 & 3 in any order you want to place them. It's incredibly unlikely that any of those clubs will finish outside the top four.

We are fighting with Spurs & Arse for 4th so that makes them a far bigger rival to us.

Also, we 'believed' Torres to be on downward curve, Suarez is most definitely entering his prime.

What people don't realise is that Rodgers is from a part of the world where the people have the stereotype of being tight (it's very close to Scotland you see) and that we won't part with Suarez for anything less than 50m.

Why else would we be shipping out all the players that get paid bucket loads?

Bollocks does he. He's a street kid from Uraguay, not a law grad from Harvard. He lives like he plays - without forethought and without any consideration of consequances

That is utterly irrelevant. What might be relevant is whether he had entered into a binding contract without having had the opportunity to read the clause or without having received advice on its contents, but again, I would be surprised if the contract did not include some warranty from Suarez that he has had that legal advice, or waives the opportunity to legal advice.

Contract law doesn't afford protection to those who deliberately fail to mitigate their exposure to risk, street kid or not.

Yea, and he's negotiating this whole thing alone isn't he, on account of how millionaire footballers don't have representatives and advisors. Suarez and his team has done pretty well in the past, and off the back of a brilliant season, he's going to do it again.

I bet Suarez shirt sales are through the floor. Can we bill him for the loss in revenue ?
Wonder how many Suarez shirts were printed during and after his appearance in those ads?
If he was so sure he had an agreement with the club to leave in the summer, I wonder why a) He took part in the shoot and b) why the club made him do so.

He came not to play.

Yes, Chelsea are a 'direct rival' to 4th place.

We will if they bid enough money.

Yep, this my take on it, and the reason why were responding to his article. Alienate the bastard and then if we decide to cut our losses and sell for a price that ain't good enough for the fans, we can point out that he's a raging cunt etc.

The PR machines are in full effect on both sides now.
