I may be wrong, but I think it's possible to shift Curtis Jones (who's presently on List B) onto List A, and thereby create an extra spot in List A by fulfilling our "locally trained" quota.

As I understand it, the CL rules are:

  • 8 minimum "locally trained" players in the 25 man List A squad
  • Out of those 8, minimum 4 should be club-trained i.e. on the club's books for minimum 3 years between age 15-21
  • In case of any shortfall in "locally trained" quota, the overall squad size of List A gets reduced by the shortfall
I think we can do the following in list A:

Club-trained:

Kelleher
Trent
Gomez
Jones

Association trained:

Milner
Henderson
Ox
Elliott

That gives us the full quota of 17 foreign players to register which would be:

(GK): Alisson, Adrian
(DF): VVD, Matip, Konate, Robertson, Tsimikas
(MF): Fabinho, Thiago, Keita
(FW): Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Diaz, Origi, Minamino

I think you might be right.

I was thinking this was right and a way forward, but then thought, dare I say, and not sure I’m right but what about Loris Karius

Karius wasn’t named in the Champions League squad - only the EPL squad.

Harvey qualifies as an U21 player in the EPL squad, but has to be registered as Association Trained for Champions League because he’s only been with the club for 2 seasons with one out on loan.

Anderson Arroyo Was the first Colombian to sign for LFC in 2018, I had thought Luis was the first..
Arroyo has been out on loan since.

I tried to watch their previous game and they were dire. I was not going to stay up for last nights game.

If Diaz' representatives were able to veto the deal with Tottenham, that means Porto agreed terms but Diaz hadn't yet, in which case there was no "deal". Levy can go f'ck himself, and probably loves himself enough to try.

Haven't read the full article but apparently these are the details:

One can only assume from that (if it's true) that Diaz hadn't put pen to paper yet. A pound to a penny says Levy would have gone to court over it otherwise.

I'd have thought there were countless examples of clubs agreeing a deal but the player not being into the move. Don't get why this one is so high profile. Glad it is, Spurs are banging an inferiority drum - I don't think I'd be as proud and noisy about this type of failure. The current squad must all be wondering how to get bought by a decent club.

Yeah, this whole "Spurs are furious" thing is just a cherry on top of an already very exciting transfer. Like @Woland said, wouldn't mind to read a few pages of word salad on it, @737Max, would you mind posting?

Is it not in the Athletic thread mate? I've posted a few article on Luis
