Patrick Bamford will never get a look in at Chelsea and has been on 4 loan spells.

Worth a punt if Chelsea decide to sell.

This is obviously Pesams neck of the woods but:

Mings
Teddy Bishop
Demarai Gray

Are the only ones I've seen by the younger players and been impressed with.

We're linked with Sam Byram from Leeds aswell.
Mowatt and Cook also gets talked up by my Leeds Utd mate

The only ones worth considering are obviously the young ones who might go on to be better.

Exactly this. I was just thinking that any under-21s who're impressing and playing regularly at that level would be worth further investigation. Other than that, I'd not be that keen.

Exactly, which rules out nearly everyone on that list including Ighalo who is older than you'd think (I think he's 26 already).

I don't think Bamford will make it at a top 4 EPL team but he's probably good enough for a WBA, Sunderland, Villa etc. Wilson (CF @ Bournemouth), Cook (DM @ Leeds) and Patrick Roberts (AM @ Fulham) all have the potential to become big stars.

Of the "older" crowd Arter (Bournemouth), Anya (Watford), Pritchard (Brentford...on loan from Spurs), Bryson and Russell (Derby) and Hooper (Norwich) would all take the transition to the higher level in their stride.

Assombalonga is excellent and will have a big future but he's after getting knee surgery and will be out for 12 months.
If he comes back as good as he was before the injury he'll become a Premier league player in time.
A few Forest supporting mates reckon he's the dog's bollox.

I've seen Mings a few times and I'm still not convinced although they've played him left back and I think long term he's gonna be a CB. Bishop I haven't seen too much of. Gray looks good but not as good as Callum Wilson.

I forgot about Byram, he looks very composed for a young lad and could be a big talent. I think he needs to play in a settled position as Leeds switch him often between right back and right mid. I reckon his best position is right back.

Cook looks awesome and it's been very noticeable that Leeds form this season only picked up when he broke into the team and their form dipped when he got injured.

Mowatt is another Leeds kid who is getting rave reviews but he's been nothing more that "decent" when I've seen him.

I'm gonna disagree with you Leo. I saw him plenty of times at Peterbro and I thought the Championship would be his ceiling. I was surprised how well he started this season but less surprised when the goals dried up before his injury. I'd be very surprised if he ever plays in the EPL and if he does I'd be very surprised if he was a success.

I've only seen him play twice and he's scored twice so my judgement stops there.
I'm going more on a few Forest fans that are saying how good he is for his age.
They were afraid they were going to lose him to Swansea and Hull who were sniffing around him in January before he got injured.

How's Nathan Redmond? Read that he's shortlisted for Football League Young Player of the Year alongside Patrick Bamford and Dele Alli.

I never trust the opinions of football fans; over the years I've heard some awful shite..............

Many Northampton fans thinking Bradley Johnson wasn't worth a place in their team when they were in the bottom division! I disagreed with them. He got transferred to leeds in the championship and the Leeds fans thought he was shite but strangely he got transferred to Norwich in the EPL and now he's the top scoring midfielder in the Championship.

Similarly, the majority of MK Dons fans didn't want Jason Puncheon in their team and now he plys his trade in the EPL with Palace.

Most Leeds fans wanted to sell Ross McCormack for £1m-£2m a couple of years ago and they sold him last season for £12m.

80% of football fans haven't a clue what a good player looks like.

I realise this makes me seem arrogant because it suggest i think I do know but wtf 🙂

Regarding Forest fans, they were convinced Lascalles (CB) was gonna be a big star but now realise he's very average at best. Henri Lansbury is their only player who could hack it at EPL level but he's very headstrong and doesn't always seem to play for the team.

I did notice that Des Walker's son scored for them last week and took his goal very well so maybe they might have an up and coming talent worth keeping an eye on.

He's NEVER impressed me Binny. From time to time he's capable of beating a player (he's very fast and has a trick or two) and scoring a goal but he's hugely inconsistent and not IMO got enough tricks for the EPL. He's a lesser version of a young Aaron Lennon IMO.

I don't know what age group Young Player Of The Year features but Callum Wilson would be my pick; not just for his 22 goals this season but he also has lots of assists too.

Cheers Pesam. I noticed Wilson's name when he was banging in the goals for Coventry. Looks like he's proved himself capable in the Championship too.

Yeah that's where I first saw him.

There are some forwards who've made it to the EPL like Barnes (Burnley), Becchio (Norwich), Wickham (Sunderland) etc when IMO better players have been overlooked. It's too late for Ross McCormack now (he's about 28) but 5 or 6 years ago he'd have been a decent option for a mid-table EPL team. I still think Hooper of Norwich has got what it takes to score goals in the top division and there are others.

Then there's players like Nakhi Wells who COULD be good enough for the top division but until Huddersfield actually play him regularly AND with a suitable partner he will be stuck as a bit-part player in the Championship. I don't understand this; Huddersfield saw him at Bradford playing off a big target man (Hanson) and scoring for fun....they sign him and play him sporadically but never with a target man!

This is why I'm hopeful about Danny Ings becoming a top goalscorer........I don't think most football fans realise just how uncreative the Burnley midfield is and how he has fed on scraps for 2 seasons....I reckon with the likes of Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Ibe etc supplying him he could be a 20-30 goal a season striker.

Agreed. Bamford I'm less sure about, though the fact that Mourinho's not yet decided to keep him at Chavski admittedly isn't a good sign.
