Loic Remy

Sky reporting this:

The Hammers have matched Nice's €10million (£8.4m) asking price for the 23-year-old, but their instalment proposal is not to the club's liking.

Stellardo says the club are happy with the value of West Ham's offer, although Liverpool will be in pole position should they match their rival's bid.

Nice have no qualms cashing in on the France international, but insist they will require all the money up front and will not settle for an instalment plan.

Remy is one of France's hottest properties having scored 15 goals in 33 appearances last season and Tottenham are also rivalling Liverpool and West Ham for his services.

Status quo
"For the moment it's the same status quo, but if Liverpool make an offer things will be done swiftly," he told L'Equipe.

"The amount (offered by West Ham) suits me but not the payment method.

"West Ham want to buy Loic because they think he could rapidly be worth €10million more if he plays in England. They don't want us to pay the full sum all at once."

This looks like it really might happen. Can we discuss this lad now? Youtube suggests he can play up front, on the right or on the left. Looks like a more intelligent version of Babel with more ability on the ball. Anyone who's seen him play regularly?

This article is weird, why push for Liverpool to bid? It's the kind of things clubs do when they know the club in question has stacks of cash, we don't.

Yeah, it's kind of weird. But goal.com and soccernet (for whatever they're worth) both reported this as a done deal and that too for 15 million euros. The price quoted here looks far more realistic. I wonder if we've actually made a bid.

Unless they know the player has no intention of going to the only club that's actually made a bid.

So they're trying to push into making (matching) an offer before he rejects WH?

Nice are probably pushing for a Liverpool bid because Anfield is probably Remy's preferred destination. If they accept WHU bid, Remy must want to go there. If he doesn't, they have to consider their options and a lower bid probably from us!
