Liverpool's Summer Transfers : Speculation & Rumours

If you are insinuating Minamino was a reactionary buy then you have it wrong. They were scouting him for while, and the technical analysis would have gone through his various performances with fine tooth comb.
It takes time to adjust to JK's style of football and tbf with Covid and lockdown he hasn't the required training with the team he needs
Umm... Ok?

Here are some players who will be like new signings, might be varying from decent to kinda ok to absolutely shit to released for free but all undoubtedly much better than Serge fucking Aurier:

Shaqiri
Jones
Brewster
Williams
Grujic
Woodburn
Harry Wilson

Reckon Grujic and Jones could actually do a job at CB - maybe not a good one, but adequate in a league cup match?

And to be fair to Aurier, I think he would be better than not very tall Shaquiri, who cannot do the defensive work of a forward or winger. I don’t see him solving our problems at CB.

That list is as reliable as Naby's driving licences
Lolz - It's his driving license! What could possibly be wrong with that...

P.S. @Rosco - Keep up the Dahmer thread man. I've away for ages but love clocking into your updates. Cheers fella. 🙂

Harry Wilson rejoins Liverpool training with Aston Villa £8 million short of price tag

Liverpool were back in training at Melwood on Tuesday, with Harry Wilson in their number as interest in the Welsh winger is yet to resolve in an acceptable bid. Wilson is among a host of players the Reds would be willing to part ways with this summer, along with the likes of Loris Karius, Marko Grujic, Xherdan Shaqiri, Nat Phillips and Divock Origi.

But so far, the club are yet to receive any offers for their fringe players, with only Dejan Lovren sold after a season that saw him make 15 appearances as fourth-choice centre-back. With the season set to start on Saturday at home to Leeds, it could even be that some of those players are included in Jurgen Klopp‘s matchday squad. More likely is that they would be considered for the League Cup clash with Bradford or Lincoln later in the month, but as long as they remain on Merseyside, they can be considered options. That is clearly the case with Wilson, who was back in training on Tuesday after recovering from a minor injury to link up with the Wales squad for the international break.

Wilson and Neco Williams were both part of the group put through their paces in the buildup to the weekend’s Anfield opener, with the right-back sealing a second 1-0 win of the month for Wales against Bulgaria on Sunday. After missing the Reds’ pre-season training camp in Austria, this is a boost for Wilson as he works his way back to full fitness.

Liverpool are claimed to value the 23-year-old at £20 million, and according to the Mirror‘s David Anderson, they are “refusing to budge” in talks with Aston Villa, Leeds, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Southampton. Anderson writes that Villa are “leading the chase” but have “baulked at their valuation,” with the Midlands side potentially “prepared to go as high as £12 million.” That would be a considerable drop-off from the price tag set at Anfield, and Villa are “waiting to see if the Reds blink first,” though this seems unlikely if the stance remains that they will simply keep him if the right offer does not present itself.

Jordan Henderson was also back in full training on Tuesday, while Caoimhin Kelleher returned from Republic of Ireland duty to work with Alisson, Adrian and Karius. The rest of the squad was comprised of those who were not called up, including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Takumi Minamino, James Milner and Joel Matip. Origi and Phillips were also involved, along with youngsters Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Billy Koumetio, Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg. Klopp has not called in any academy players despite his numbers being short just days before Liverpool’s next game, as both the under-23s and under-18s also kick off their campaign this weekend.

This is hypothetical question, so if people could not freak out. In the event we sign no-one and the club finishes outside the top 4, would you back Klopp or be behind FSG

How about, can't pay the £29m fee, totally skint!

How much did we sell Lovren for..?

How much money is still owed to us for Coutinho..?

SKINT!!! those tight fucker at FSG want to put their hands in their pocket and start backing Klopp or sell the club to someone who will

Liverpool are considering selling England Under-21 striker Rhian Brewster, 20, this summer with a possible buy-back clause.

Why do they even bother with calling it a 'buy back' clause? Has a buy back clause ever been triggered? I genuinely don't know. It certainly doesn't sound like it makes any sense. If you sell a player, and he does well enough for you to want to sign him back, your club will surely have to be more successful than the club you sold him to, but surely he will need to have been more successful for that club than the players who have made you more successful at your club. And if he is, will he want to go back to the club that didn't show faith in him, rather than on to another big club? That's why I never 'get' the buy back clause, except as a coy means of adding some other clause that gets you some sort of compensation for the buy back clause not being accepted. Which is too roundabout a way to settle a contract. It's a down the rabbit hole clause.

If we sell Brewster, after all the pressure we put on him to stay when other big clubs here and in Germany were trying like mad to sign him, then he's entitled to tell us to go to hell in the future. He won't re-sign. It'll be a huge shame if we lose him now, and an almighty cock-up by the pwers-that-be.

I think selling Brewster would be a huge error by the club, not just in terms of his potential but in terms of fan sentiment.

I think alot of people who have given FSG the benefit of the doubt over their refusal to release any money this summer would reassess if we start flogging our most promising going talent.

Yes, and seeing as their initial PR policy was 'we don't need new players because we've got these kids being promoted,' it will take some explaining to account for a new policy that seems to be about offering some of those kids for sale.

Id back Klopp because hes a genius manager who is operating in circumstances no other top manager would tolerate (maybe Wenger)

If we slide out of contention for major honours this year thats firmly on FSG

Selling Brewster seems like such a baffling move that I'm refusing to believe it until anything more concrete comes out. Agree with @gkmacca, it makes no sense. Buy-back clauses are a thing, Real Madrid has used them successfully with a number of players, but I just don't know why we would keep Origi and "sell" Brewster and not the other way around. Hope it's all bollocks.

Unless someone can tell me differently (and I don’t look through a large amount of UK newspaper) - there seems to be talk about him going on loan and some “journo” seems to have made up some stuff about a permanent move to make it sound more interesting.

It wouldn’t even make sense if we were using the proceeds to buy Mbappe.

Madrid have done it quite a few times ... but can't think of a real good example in English footy.

Okay, I’ll bite.
Is it Everton or Chelsea that has got you weeing your pants? And it seems from this that you like your signings funded by dirty eastern bloc money - are you open to sovereign funds from the Middle East too?

We must know which billionaire you’re fantasising about Donovan lad!!
