The Dane is restored to the team for the first time since September 21 alongside Martin Skrtel at the heart of the Reds' defence in a 4-3-3 formation.
Elsewhere, Philippe Coutinho is handed a starting berth after making his comeback from injury at Arsenal last weekend, while Glen Johnson is fit to start after missing the encounter at the Emirates due to a localised infection in his jaw.
Liverpool: Mignolet, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Cissokho, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge.
Subs: Jones, Enrique, Alberto, Moses, Sakho, Allen, Sterling.

I don't know what to make of this, if this is a 4-3-3 that means no more 2 at the front which I really liked but if it's a 4-2-2 that means Hendo on the wing which I think is very wrong and never works out....I do think the defence will do well today it seems settled, although Enrique over Cissokho would have been better.

sakho wouldnt be any good as a fullback so i havnt got a problem about that, hopefully its just a precaution for enrique and he'll get a run out after the first half, he should always start ahead of cissokho

It's ridiculous is what it is!! I doubt there are many posters on here who would play Cissokho ahead of Sakho!!
Lucas, Gerard and Henderson all start again despite not deserving it, its just easier for Rodgers and we've seen this before! Have the fucking balls to change it at home to a struggling side FFS!!

Why even contemplate this? The captain will NEVER be rested due to form, EVER. Forget about it. He'll play until he retires. As for Lucas and Hendo, yeah, they might get swapped about a bit, but I suppose they've looked best in training.

I always feel that if a player coming back from injury is fit enough for the bench then he should start,

Why do you find it hard to believe that a player returning from injury can only run at a Premier League pace for 30 minutes?

It's seems perfectly reasonable to me.
