They definitely are. Presumably it's to save some energy for a big push the last ten or fifteen minutes.
They can afford us to score another & still only need score the one to go through, so it's the sensible option.

Yeah, I never get criticism of strikers being selfish. Half their goals come about because of that selfishness.
