So, is Rhys ahead of Philips?
Didn't play him against Fulham when Matip got injured either. Doesn't seem like Klopp rates him at all.

Rhys had a good game. It's quite evident that he's young and inexperienced. Makes the wrong decisions at times but all in all very promising.
I still want us to sign another defender in January though.

JoMo whinging as if he was unlucky to lose. Yes in a sense he played the right tactics. Most teams come here and sit in and play counter football. He's moaning as if he expects his system to work every time...and when it doesn't he can't accept it..Totally self absorbed, narcissist...

Just want to say that to a man they were all great tonight, the effort they put in for that victory was immense, and I tell you - Curtis gives it 100% and that young guy at the back - wow !!! - he is so cool for his age especially considering he was up against two of the best front men at the back. Curtis makes our midfield more dynamic and adds a bit speed to the passing, he is full of confidence. We are lucky to have him right now.

Gini - what can I say about him ? - always playing, covered so much ground - and he is playing better than he has ever done for us right now (apart from that Barca game of course). Maybe he just thrives on knowing there is no one to back up his position right now because they are all fucked and injured. I can only remember him losing the ball once. Henderson, and Robbo were just outstanding, and I think Mane had the hardest game I have ever seem him play in - that guy was trying to bum him all game, and to his credit was winning many of those duals.

I just hope we stop drawing in those other games against the likes of Brighton, and Fulham - coz they are doing my head in. It is games like those makes me feel we are the Liverpool that keeps fucking it up. Too many draws in games we should be winning will cost us.

As for Spurs - they had a plan - the same plan that Jose had that stopped us winning the league under Brendan, it does annoy me that we had to work so fucking hard for that victory and they just parked the bus and were waiting just for the transitions to kill us. But at least in this game unlike the game against Fulham we tried not just the wings but also tried to take it through the middle area of the pitch.

In isolation I'd say Phillips maybe wasn't an option tonight because of pace but must be more than that

I think taking it through the middle is what Curtis has brought us, and and why he's a breath of fresh air to our usual game plan.

He won us the free kick that got us the penalty against Fulham, and albeit with a little luck, a 1-2 and attacking through the middle got us the 1st goal tonight.

This will only open up our usual avenues down the flanks.

Had we lost to Spurs I would have been calling for Klopp's head 😉
I fucking hate Spurs

Have to say - probably not as much as West Ham fans !!! - but also think I would be pissed if we had drawn that game - mainly because of the effort we had to put in while they were parking their fat ugly bus.

@Stevesquash - yes you are right Curtis is the one that is driving us through the middle but tonight I thought Gini helped out a lot, to make it happen a bit more. In that Fulham game I was almost crying - it was like fucking mental break-down for us, we kept trying to go down left / right when it was like fully blocked and the middle there was so much space to be had but none of our lot even bothered other than that one run great run that Curtis had.

Only got praise for Williams. Did really well and all part of learning his trade. Takes a sight longer to make a central defender than other positions. Lot of it is reading the attacks etc. Can't short change it, only experience out there against quality opposition will suffice.

I'm OK with this now.

I can't help but think they would have deliberated over it for an age had it been us who had scored it, desperately scanning for an elbow or an armpit offside.

This is how it should be used. Quick look, it's so tight, so give the goal. But I don't have any faith in that being the consistent approach throughout the season, or when we score a similar goal in the future. We'll see, I suppose.

If that's how it's going to be going forward, I'm okay with that. If you can't tell immediately, give the goal. Just be consistent.

Fuck me I’ve always thoughts Jones had the X factor but his ceiling appears to get higher with every passing performance.

Amazing today.

I'm sure there are plenty of players we could say Jones reminds us of but for me using recent players he kinda gives me positive Lallana vibes. The way Peak Lallanna used to drift around like a pest snapping at heels with intelligent dribbling and use of space to get into good positions pulling the opposition around for others.

He's having such a good run and its getting to the point where you can't say playing a young player like Curtis Jones is a weakness, at the moment he's one of the first names on the team sheet. Does he keep his place over returning players like Keita and Ox?

I think he’s got a lot more in his locker than even peak Lallana but time will tell. He certainly doesn’t look out of place and easily is ahead of Keita and Ox. I just don’t want to seem him burn out so Klopp needs to manage his game time accordingly.

Gini was also amazing last night. It's rare we see him 'let off the leash' to go forward and orchestrate like that. He was pulling all the strings and keeping possession and laying it off under heavy heavy pressure.

I really like Keita, he could be an amazing player for us if it all starts to click, as has happened on a couple of periods before another injury, however he's absolutely behind Jones at the moment.

Moarinho back to being a troll. He just couldn’t resist could he ? Has anyone told him it isn’t even entertaining anymore ?

Even a person who doesn’t know much bout footy will say we dominated the match and won fair and square. 76% possession. Lol.

He’s just using that old and tiresome tactic of siege mentality to rally team morale. Yawn.

He’s such a bad loser!

Mourinho on Firmino's goal:

"I don't wanna speak about it, I prefer not to speak. If I speak about that I've to speak about the behaviour of some coaches on the touchline."

Mourinho in 'Liverpool Coaches celebrated winning goal on the touchline "Shocker"'

So Jose.... show me on the doll where Liverpool touched you.

In all seriousness. I think I know the incident that Jose is referring to.

At the final whistle Klopp turned to his coaches before going to Mourinho.

Plus I think it was Pep Ljinders who celebrated a bit too close to the spurs bench at the final whistle. Watching it in real time I thought it was a bit naughty.

But for Jose to say the best team lost.. I reckon he's got the Rona and its affecting his mind.

“The team was brilliant. Today Liverpool didn’t look a team that is champion, European champion, world champion – that difference was not on the pitch.”

Fucking cunt

That’s from the moaning cunt who did the slide at old Trafford. The whinging cunt. The headlines should be “Jose fucking hates football and thinks you shouldn’t celebrate last minute winners”

Anfield loves Jose. I'm surprised he didn't mention the goal that he had taken out of his version of the history books.
