What a fucking cunt that "fan" is if he's said something racist. But why didn't Evra kick up a fuss like that?

Anybody know anything? Did he get thrown out? I've texted someone at the game now.

Downing and Carroll!? WTF

Anybody know where we can get highlights?
Sadly true.

Hali- I don't think it's fair to expect everyone to react in the same way

Everyone booing him & chanting suarez name afterwards makes us all look like cunts, not just that dickhead.

In that respect some of the shit we get tommorrow will be earned, sadly.

I know, Anita. My comment was tongue in cheek mainly.

Let's hope it was a coin or something thrown at him.

Radio 5 Live is already saying that a player may have been subjected to racial abuse from Liverpool fanS. As far as I'm aware it is one dickhead.
If it's the ones I saw on the TV, there were three or four of them together in wigs or jester hats or something and Suarez T-shirts on. If our worst fears are confirmed, then Dalglish will be blamed for this.
He backed his player, he didn't say he backed him as a racist, he backed him because he thought he was innocent and he had been judged unfairly, which he ultimately has, he said the wrong thing and he should be punished for it, or educated, depending on how, ahem, 'black & white' you're viewing this, but he's also been judged based on assumptions and exaggeration.
What I mean is, Dalglish has already been accused of behaving crassly over the t-shirts and of whipping the fanbase into a paranoid frenzy. Some people in the commentariat will say his actions have been a contributary factor.
Fair enough, we've said as much in our statement though, that we won't tolerate racism. If it's influenced idiots to do that then you're right, but everyone with a braincell knows we weren't actively condoning racism, we felt our player was hard done by and the FA were on an agenda. If he's fooled us all then he's a cunt, but Evra isn't without form either, hence the doubt. The whole thing is a sorry mess and I don't want to be at the throat of fellow posters, so peace out. We all want the same thing. Why does it always feel like there's a shit storm above this club? It seems like it's been like that forever.

I am certain of only two things in the world right now.

1. That I exist
2. That we're not selling Glen Johnson in this window.

I'd ask for a second opinion on number 1

ITN News: confirmation of a 'racial incident' involving Tom Adeyemi at tonight's match. The player has confirmed that he wishes to make an official complaint regarding the incident.

It will be easy for The club to sort out really.

Make a statement saying it's not at all acceptable.
Find the bloke ban him for life
Hand him over to the police
Say anyone else caught doing similar shit will get a similar punishment
Issue a full proper apology to adeyemi and Oldham
Make it flippin clear this is not how we roll
I hope the statement we make actually says 'not how we roll' in it

I think it was a racist incident and I think we will all be branded as racists in the morning.

Unfortunately.

At least we simplify the process of naming the new stadium

Did the Oldham fans sing there is only one Man Utd after that incident? Sounded like it.

A BBC journalist on twitter (Nick Parrott) is saying he spoke to people on the kop who said the comment to Adeyemi was 'manc bastard'.
Even if this is so this is bad for the club, it just shows how much of an effect the Suarez case has had, because clearly racism is in there minds when they come here.

Well theres nothing wrong with that..... some choice decisions have been made recently at our club really great stuff.... and i aint talking about signing Downing. I read in the Suarez thread that it doenst matter what other people think about our actions... really.... we've laid ourselves open to accusations left right and centre and its open season for dickheads.

Down the M62? Who knows? But this guy Nick Parrott has just sent a reply on twitter to mirrorfootball denying it was a racist comment!

Why on earth should this be bad for the club? Any racist can turn up at any match. I'm proud that my club is exceptionally public in its clear denunciation of any form of prejudice, which it makes prior to every match. It can't read minds and stitch up people's mouths. It can only remove them and punish them ex post facto. Which it will do. No shame there at all.

KKKraig Bellamy was ace tonight.

Cant believe Carroll the great big shit house, scores a cracker and then fluffs a free header from 6 yards out.

Says there were black and asian fans nearby and nobody reacted.
Not another misunderstanding! Bollocks, we'll just have to sacrifice this guy to cleanse our image anyhoo. We can't claim he said 'manc' or we're fooked.

Right. So, a few things:

1. The lobster was fucking fantastic.
2. Up until the incident, this was by far the best match thread on SCM in a long time. Unless you weren't able to watch the match and were relying on the thread for info.
3. If a white player had the same reaction to guy in the crowd, everyone would have assumed a coin or a comment. But he was black, and you all immediately started talking about racism. Neither the Suarez context, nor the fact that it may turn out to be a racial abuse incident justifies that reaction. You're all racists.

RACIST!

Oh, and 4. Gerrard will have the Downings and Carrolls believing in themselves in no time at all and it's going to propel us to the title.
