Honestly, I've been supporting Liverpool for 30 odd years and have never witnessed an injury jinx like this. Unbelievable! Having said that this game was there for the taking. Aqualani should have made an appearance just after we scored. Lucas was rubbish. Aside from that I thought we played quite well. I have forgotten what its like to win. A depressing state of affairs.

To be fair, Rafa couldn't really have made a third substitution just after we scored - there were 40 mins left: what would have happened if we'd had another injury?

Aquilani should have started IMO. Play him till he's exhausted, then bring on Lucas afterwards.
Yeah, and then imagine the carnage on here when we lost him after the odd 30 minutes of play for the next 2 month.

But Aquilani's not injured! He's just lacking in match fitness - and the only solution for that is to play matches!

I know, why don't we just *never* play him at all? Might be a slight waste of talent and money, but hey, at least he won't get injured again...

City deserved the draw at least, they're better than I though they were. From 50 minutes when we scored the first and they started bothering I thought they were excellent.
If they flash more cash in Jan that could be bad news.

Actually mate, both goals came from VERY Liverpool like defending. THAT'S the problem.

Today wasn't about bad luck. It was about being shite at the back again, and missing chances that I would score...
In terms of play you probably can't say we were unlucky not to win.

We are however in an extreme fragile state of mind so you don't have to be a science professor to know that we'd need a bit of luck after the Int. break to get things started.

Johnson then gets injured shortly before kick-off, but we still manage to start out like thunder. We really looked like we were going to trash them.

Then Agger and Babel went as well within the next 15 minutes and the remainings of this newfound Int-break confidence vanished and we seemed to hit a new low morale-wise.

Watching these incidents isolated would probably just be seen as a bit of bad luck but when knowing how we've struggled all season with injuries to key-players you couldn't have choosed a worse timing really. Unless you were a Citeh-fan of course.

If you disagee then alright with me but this is so obviously a key factor as to why we are struggling at the moment. Every team would really.
I really don't understand where you're going with this. Today, and much of this season has nothing to do with luck. Even with the injury situation (which I'll give you), the players on the field just aren't playing well enough.

It wasn't bad luck today that hurt us. It wasn't bad luck that stopped Skyrtl from marking Adebayor. It wasn't bad luck that caused him to lose the ball sooooo easily to Tevez or made Lucas stop running and simply watch Ireland run on to score. Neither goal took 17 deflections on the way in.

Lucas' miss wasn't unlucky. It was pathetic.

It was bad play that cost us the points today.

Again.
A bad run that has it's origin in a beachball and a million injuiries (and a few stoppingtime loses and equalizers as well) has seen the players lose confidence. Otherwise solid players has become rather crap-ish. Today we seemed confident from the off - even though Johnson was suddenly ruled out - but then we got more bad luck and confidence hit a new low.

Thought this was obvious to everyone. Luck is a key-factor whether you like it or not.

Skrtel played very well in big chunks of last Season now he looks like he couldn't even make it at Tranmere. Insua, Lucas and to some extent Ngog are youngsters whom are obviously influenced a lot by the current bad run. Gerrard went down with cramp in the 78th minute - he's miles away from match fitness and looks a shadow of himself.

Bottomline is we are in desperate need for a victory to regain confidence.

Everyone can see we are in a rather extreme situation right now. Today it seemed like our luck had turned, players was returning from injury and others had trained intensely to regain sharpness.

Then what happens? Johnson gets injured prior to kick-off. Then Agger gets injured. then Babel gets injured and we haven't even played 15 minutes.

That's bad luck if anything is. And yet we managed to be the better team and create enough to win. I don't think we played as poorly as you indicate, even though we easily could've lost in the end.
Was last season just good luck, all the red cards against the opposition with half them not deserved, all the
late goals we scored you make your own luck in football. Given made one save today and that was in the 5th minute, were simply not good enough at the minute were carrying to many passengers.

We draw at home, drop 2 more points and there's more debate going on about the Ireland match from half a week ago. I think that's a good barometer that we are all well and truly pissed off with the current situation.

This season is a write off. We'll drop lots more points. It might get a bit interesting again in March if we're still in contention for 4th (which I expect we will, despite evidence to the contrary).

This is the first time I've been in FF for more than 5 minutes in weeks.

I'm about as apathetic as you get, cos if I get past apathy I'll be angry, hurt, betrayed & upset all at once. That would mean going postal or class A drugs to get through it, neither of which are an option.

I know. Living clean and being a Liverpool supporter this season are uneasy bedfellows.

This is the worst Liverpool team I've ever seen. So many shit players that it's unreal. Plus an awful manager.

We should throw you in the bin with rage.

Yes, that might help us win a game.
