You cant play heavy metal football when you using garage band-level players...I think Klopp also needs to adapt his philosophy as well, it not just the players

... Also Im not 100% on the hype train with Curtis Jones. He looks like he could go through the gears and end up a great player but equally, he could just turn out average...
Sorry but what? Jones is already way above average. It's only a question of where his ceiling is.

Our line is just too high. Again and again a long ball to the wing and we are done.
Players have too much space to run into and our defenders can't defend that with a makeshift defensive unit.
It makes you think if we can see it why can't Klopp

At Christmas, we were top and seemingly strolling to another title. We then started losing in the virtually the same manner for the next two and a half months with no inclination from the manager to change anything. I don't see how this is Edwards' fault.

We started the season with:
  • Three centre-backs knowing that two of them struggle to make it through a season injury free.
  • No cover at RB (or LB to be honest - I'm not sure what the point if Tsimikas is / was)
  • Next to no cover up front after seeing warning signs up front - Jota is clearly not enough.
Then we still have the likes of Ox, Origi, Shaq still at the club taking up spots in the squad despite repeatedly showing that they can't be relied on to stay fit or contribute.

So yeah, as I said, basically we've relied on Klopp doing his thing and a subset of the squad (e.g. VVD, Salah, Mane) to keep performing with no breaks. There has been no allowance for drops in form, resting players or indeed injuries.

Yes, we have been hit by an insane injury crisis and yes things have been made difficult by Covid but this crisis has been building for a couple seasons now and we've done next to nothing to address it.

When Ross said it, I thought "nah, taking the piss" but the way the players are playing, I just feel something is missing.
Is Klopp struggling to motivate these guys? or are they mentally fried after 2.5 years non-stop? Or is just shit luck, shit momentum, shit everything in a shit world before we destroy everyone again next year?

Did you see Robbo in the Fulham attack just before the goal? CBs had moved up and he was still 7m behind the other three playing everyone onside on our right when the CBs though they were playing them offside.

Klopps inability to adapt is clear. This is painful, and you have to wonder what is going on behind the scenes.

This is why I don't even have to think hard to know that Salah isn't anywhere near as good as Suarez. Salah has made the absolute most of his ability, and we've made the absolute best of it in a system that has really only offered him the ability to think aggressively all the time. He's still the biggest threat on a team that doesn't have much, and he's been brilliant for us at times, but he's fundamentally limited in some ways technically.
And yet Mo is still the PL leading scorer despite our continued shiteness. And still on for 20+ goals in the PL for three consecutive seasons. Rough with the smooth.

How long will FSG back him?

Wins the CL and we get a couple youngsters and reserver keepers.

Wins the league, we get Jota and Thiago but know it's not enough.

Manages to get to Jan top of the league with an unprecented injury crisis and gets two bargain basement defenders right at the end of the window when it's too late.

Yeah, he's really been backed.

THe long and short of it is that this team was never that good at creative football.

It was a machine that ground you down with energy, won the ball up high and our attackers made you play like your defense constantly had a razor to your throat. This waned some last year and we got by on excellent crossing and good enough finishing.

Now, we're doing the same, but we can't afford to have one on ones in defense because we've got our 6th choice out there, and our fullbacks and midfield can't press high. The low percentage crossing is reverting to the mean, and is from deeper. We don't really have the personnel to do much differently with any real ambition, but if our ambition is to not lose so much, there are options that would work better.

It'll be ugly and unsuccessful either way.

Just shit, shit, shit.

Taking extra touches and slow play all over the gaffe.

Not enough technically proficient players to play this City-like gameplan.

I think we scored from a corner against Spurs, but it was their corner.

This I find funny. We've played various ways under Klopp through the years.

None of them involved having a shit back line though. I'm not sure who adapts to that. If we sit back, that'll be ugly, too.
