I've noticed that when he runs, he doesn't look like he's moving freely or smoothly right now. Looks like a man running with two invisible suitcases on his back. It's very strange.

He also seems to be best utilised as a transition player. Someone very good at running with the ball, into space. But right now, we're not playing teams who will give him that space to run. I thought he would have the dribbling skills to go past people in tight areas as he showed early on, but for some reason he looks to have become timid in risking the ball (and loss of possession).

His passing (and through balls) seems to have gone as well. He was never really a goal scorer, but one of his main strengths were penetrating passes and i'm not seeing him even try that any more.

The one hope I hold is that he clearly is still struggling with the language and adapting, and players like Robert Pires, Vidic, Drogba were considered absolute wank in their first seasons'. So Keita may be another case of a foreigner taking a season or so to settle.

I'm repeating myself but a year in a non-English speaking environment and then thrown in with a group of people all speaking English to varying degrees and with massively different accents ? Yeah I'm not surprised he doesn't use it (to the level maybe expected). He undoubtedly speaks his own tribal language and the national language (French), basing this guess on my experience of locals during 5 years in Nigeria, and German after a few years in Austria and Germany.

If one assumes that players like Lovren and VvD speak German (as is likely they do) then it's no surprise he uses his English less when communicating with his colleagues since that gives him a common language with :

German : Klopp and coaching staff, VvD, Karius, Lovren, Matip, Hoever, Gini and any English players that speak German.
French : Mane (his best mate), Ming, Origi, Shaq. and any English players that speak French.

Not a chance. I know Klopp is ruthless when he wants to be but he really really wanted Naby so he's not going to drop him just because his season has been a 5/10 so far, and after a few injuries. He has it in him to convert that to 7 or 8/10 next season when his confidence and adjustment to this league, improves.

5/10? He’s been a 1 considering the price and expectation.

He was still a diver at the end but ya a legend for them no doubt.

It’s just not like Keita has been average or decent and we expected the world based on what we paid, who wanted him and how he was tearing up Germany, he’s been absolutely shite all things considered.

He needs to start putting in some performances pronto
