So erm, surely Lallana and henderson are squadies now? Fabinho looks class and shaqiri is made for this team

Salah also had a cheeky smile when he tried the audacious shot from his own half.
He's back a goal and two assists

I don't think he's overjoyed when he scorers himself cos he knows he's still not at his best, it still doesn't look like it's natural. Once that returns, he'll be happy with himself & he'll be loving scoring again.

He was clearly overjoyed for Shaq so I don't think it's anything deeper than that perfectionist streak that almost all elite players have.

Lallana is out of form but I dont think he’s suited to this team anymore. Slow both on and off the ball. His constant turns and stop starts just fucked up our momentum.

Agreed. Thats the thing. He was good for us when we were pushing for top 4.
We have elevated and I dont think he has. He looks like a player out of his depth.

It’s actually good news in a way. I think he’ll be moved on in the summer and someone stupid like Everton will probably give us 20 million for him.

Yeah, I mentioned this a couple of weeks back. It's hard to imagine us playing anywhere near our best form with him inn the pitch, even if he's at peak performance.

He looks like it at present, that's true, but in the past he's certainly not looked out of his depth at international level, let alone club level. He's a very talented player who's slowly playing his way back to fitness and form. What he's like when he's fully fit again remains to be seen.

Talented no doubt, but his natural tendency is to slow the game down. Only in his very best form in 1 out of 4 seasons in Liverpool was he able to play Klopp's high-intensity high-speed game and on the balance of things it's probably unwise to wait until he plays himself into that kind of form (and stays fit while doing so), when one attacker who is out of sync with the rest can apparently seriously disrupt our attacking game even against Cardiff at home.

He's been out for like forever and has only played a couple of games so far on his return. I'm not against the reality that he's what, 30(?) and falling down the pecking order, but he looked pretty good when him and Coutinho and Bobby were ripping teams a new one a couple of years back. Saying he looks out of his depth now, while working his way back from more or less a year + out is ridiculous. How is a player supposed to elevate with the team when he missed a year that saw them elevate?

Is Clyne out of his depth aswell? Or just another victim of a terrible injury that's ruined his momentum and left him languishing behind? What about Sturridge? Wasn't he finished last season and the season before?

I'm not sure that failing to look at the same level as everyone else after two injury interrupted seasons is that surprising.

Reckon Curtis Jones is the natural replacement for Lallana within the squad, with Harry Wilson having an outside chance if he continues to progress and impress.

Why do you take EVERYTHING as a personal crusade Mark?

Im sorry you think im ridiculous.

I'd argue that we might not even need one. We've got Henderson, Fabinho, Gini, Milner, Keita, Shaqiri and AOC for three positions. I suppose in the long haul Milner will move to Leeds possibly and AOC might not return as the same player, but right now we've got good cover for the midfield three. Another wide attacker would be good, that's where we are really probably lacking now, there and cover for Robertson, given Moreno is garbage.

For the record all I was saying is that SINCE Lallana was at all influential for us we have signed Mane, Salah, Fabinho, Shaqiri and Keita
Couple that with the VAST improvement in Wijnaldum and the blistering form of Milner the last 18 months and he looks a player left behind.

If you read my posts about Lallana the past 10 years you will know I am a massive fan.

Was at the game..

We made hard work of that, not helped by the fact the referee was absolutely atrocious..

Salah was a targeted man all game.. Should have had a penalty and in the second half how the linesman did not pick up on blatent fouling on Salah only for the ref to award a free kick to Cardiff is beyond me..

Still he scored 1 and assisted two.. He is back...

Mo Salah Mo Salah running down the wing...

Salaaaaaaah la la lah lahhhhh

The Egyptian King..

I also think that if you need to caveat any players influence on the team with ‘If he stays fit’ its fairly sure he A:Wont stay fit B:Wont live up to the ideals you want.

By you I mean us.

I don't think youre ridiculous, I think judging someone's suitability to a team after a lengthy lay off is difficult. Sturridge being a case in point, he still has something to offer and Clyne probably does aswell, Lallana might, who knows.

The only players I don't particularly give a fuck about now in our match day squads are Moreno and Mignolet, others might have a part play.
