He made a couple of very smart saves but I was more impressed with his distribution to be honest. Comfortable with the ball at his feet on either side, willing to take short passes or go long upfield as required. Very assured in his decision making. Feels weird to have a 2nd keeper that doesnt strike terror into his own defenders.
Ditto. Looks very assured and confident. Only put one kick straight into touch (and that in their half) and set us up on breaks twice with fast accurate and long throws.

That was among my favourite performances of the season. Kelleher, Williams and Jones all put good to excellent performances, the Williams and Jones celebration was as wholesome as you can get in football,as was the Kelleher Klopp hug at the end. Klopp sprinted to the debutant at the final whistle.

We played smart, disciplined and professional.

Firmino put in some of his best touches in 12 months.

The original front three failed to spark. Mane and Salahs reduced effectiveness is becoming a sight concern.

Nice to see Klopp smile again.

The academy deserves a big pat on the back tonight.

Have we actually had as successful a group stage when the bad-backed one was still in the side? We are through as the top team with one game to spare.

This is nothing about the group stage of the CL, it's our overall gameplay, take the other day - so many advanced positions but never the clear cut moments a Coutinho would be able to provide with a cute pass. It's all bollox mate.

Really good performance overall, and if our front 3 weren't off their game, we'd have smashed them by quite a few goals.

Great debut from the young wee GK.
Neco was solid, I think having Hendo talking to him really helped him (you could hear it a few times).
Matip-Fabinho is a solid CB pairing ... we need them healthy.
Robbo was Robbo.
Hendo is so key to this team too - such a vital cog, and a proper leader who demands the team follows his example.
Gini - solid as ever.
Jones ... CuJo is quite the player. Disciplined player? Check. Phsyical? Yup. Can be an attacking force when not playing defensively? Uh huh. Star in the making.

The front 3 tried hard, but were just wasteful and off ... I guess considering they'll be 'on' at Wolves and we'll pummel them, I'll take it ;-)

The commentators go out of their way to slam Klopp re: the fixtures. Fucking tarts don't mention how the season had no preseason, or how there's more and more injuries ... Klopp is trying to protect his players, and Mourinho, Pep etc all agree .. but "let's take a shot at Klopp" Twats

The way Bobby shook off about four players in our half and then set up an attack - it makes it all the more frustrating when he goes missing. He was much better yesterday.

I didn't think his distribution was that good, but the fact that he can clear well with both feet and is assured means that it's much harder to force him into any sort of mistake, which is really useful to our play.
He booted the ball away far too many times for anyone to say "he's great with his feet". It's not like he was finding a pass.

Basically, he seemed more comfortable booting the ball away with both feet, than Adrian. And his first touch was a little more assured.

He didn't try and be too smart at all and turn a striker closing him. Did the basics of clearing his lines without much fuss. Hopefully he continues to do the same until Alli is back.

I heard Owen say after the game that although that was much better it still isn't even close to his best (obviously he's been watching him for the U23s) so there is clearly a lot more to come (if you accept Owen's opinion).

EDIT. Seems Klopp said similar too.
I think he's been doing a more reserved job much of the time & that's what been asked of him tbh.

Against Ajax I think Klopp wanted to make it attack v attack cos he knew we'd win that battle so tried to open them up.

The way Ajax played out (or, more often, sideways and back) from the back was nice to watch, and they did it very well, but surely any good striker would love to play against that kind of defence? It only takes one lapse in concentration, one distraction, one mistiming, and it's disaster. I thought we pressed them fairly well, but could have been even sharper, particularly in terms of the keeper while he looked to pass the ball around. You need a beginning, middle and end to such moves, and I thought Ajax got a bit lost at times in the middle.

Ajax made at least 3-4 incredible last ditch tackles which on another day could have resulted in pens, red cards, or both. They often left their CB 1v1 with Mane which was kind of suicidal as well. They did play well overall but if we were abit sharper, or abit luckier on the day, we would have run away with the game much earlier.

Fred getting a yellow for a blatant headbutt in the first half, eventually getting sent off for a second yellow.

Tbh I think the ref made the right call in the first half. Paredes with some shocking play acting.
PSG are an awful team.

You see tackles do worse damage get off with nothing. It was a brush not a head butt.

What did Alisson Becker say to you before the game? We also saw a big hug from Adrian prior to kick-off...
I didn't see Ali yesterday because I think he was gone, but I got a text before the game just to tell me good luck. Adrian was a really great support. He told me, 'I'm with you 100 per cent and supporting you no matter what.' To get that from him was really kind of him.

Lovely support from Adrian.

I'm worried about the fact Alisson was "gone" ... gone to the crematorium probably.
