With Salah, seriously, you just can't have defenders and keepers knowing that you're ALWAYS going to take a touch and turn inside rather than have a go occasionally with your right foot. For someone of his ability I really don't believe it's not possible to work on something like that.

That’s the end of Adrian. Klopp’s comments feel like he’s making him third choice.

Anyone got a few clips of Kelleher's performance?
pretty much sums it up:

Kelleher looked pretty decent.

Both him & Adrian are good shot stoppers - looks like Kelleher is a lot better on the ball though.

I know we got injuries and most of the backline are crippled, and we have a load sick-note midfielders, but I just really wish we could sign Coutinho back, we really are desperate for a creative outlet, the majority of our play is built on a collective effort and for once I would just love us to win easy, and actually get the best out of our front men. The effort we have to put into get marginal wins against teams that can actually play or are prepared to play against us is the thing that tires this team out.

Have we actually had as successful a group stage when the bad-backed one was still in the side? We are through as the top team with one game to spare.

I’m struggling to remember when have we ever gone into the last game as a dead rubber.

Curtis jones might legitimately be the best box to box midfielder we have, phenomenal talent

Neco was sound tonight , a fee hiccups first half but he was much better second half although as a team we felt more cohesive

Kelleher was decent , did everything asked of him , can't imagine his confidence was too high after conceding 7 a few days ago , so good on him!

Trent being back will be massive for this team , as will the ability to replace Gini after 70 mins with keita
I know I've built jones up alot above but Gini has been immense all season, class act

Amazing the bias of some hacks. There's a report that says 'Ajax had the chances but Liverpool scored the goal'. Beg pardon?? What game were they watching?? We had loads of chances.

We should have had a few more in that last half hour. A combination of weak finishing (Firmino) and tired heavy legs (Mané/Salah) saw us pass up some very good chances to kill the game off

oof that’s a kick in the nuts for Naby Keita but maybe a good shout, is Curtis about to move ahead of him?

Christ he made at least two important saves

He made a couple of very smart saves but I was more impressed with his distribution to be honest. Comfortable with the ball at his feet on either side, willing to take short passes or go long upfield as required. Very assured in his decision making. Feels weird to have a 2nd keeper that doesnt strike terror into his own defenders.

Someone said after the last game that he was slow. That's so not him. But he'd gone into a shell. Then tonight he started moving forward, started making a few runs, and he was back like his 'old' self again.
I heard Owen say after the game that although that was much better it still isn't even close to his best (obviously he's been watching him for the U23s) so there is clearly a lot more to come (if you accept Owen's opinion).

EDIT. Seems Klopp said similar too.

I didn't think his distribution was that good, but the fact that he can clear well with both feet and is assured means that it's much harder to force him into any sort of mistake, which is really useful to our play.

Yep that's a bit weird. Our front three made atrocious decisions all night, on another it could easily have finished 6-2. Even then we have 15 (5) to their 11 (4) and Jones' shot against the post was very unlucky to stay out - another couple of inches left and it was in (Neros' post shot was always going wide).

To be honest they hardly worried me that much (despite some of their lovely football), our CBs and Kelleher just seemed to have it all covered.
