If Crouchie is deemed to be a £12m man then surely Carroll looks good value at £35m given his near 10 year age advantage over Crouch, his greater potential and residual value, which no matter what dips in forms he has will never drop below £15-20m over the next few years.

Andy Carroll is an overpriced British talent that needs to sort himself out double quick. There's no doubt that he has ability and talent but seems to be lacking in application. He'll be doing bench duty if she doesn't shape up.

The exciting thing about the next summer transfer window is that some of the current first team players will become squad players. This is probably Kuyts last season and who knows, if Lucas doesn't continue to improve, his too.

I have no argument with Lucas and he has improved but is by no means the finished product. While he has come on in leaps and bounds and is now a first team player, there's room for improvement.

I seem to remember our fitness team saying they were surprised at how little he was used to working out with weights etc. Looks like he has bulked up a lot, which apperantly makes him slower and contributes to losing a bit of that spring in his turns and when jumping for the ball.

If this is actually the case, then hopefully we'll sort it out and get him going. The talent is there, and still only 22.

It's good to see us now have like for likes, Kuyt and Carroll, Suarez and Bellamy. When our front men used to get injured (especially Gerrard and Torres) we had nothing beyond that, now we've got four quality players.
