Sevilla were very, very good the season they won the UEFA Cup. Was Poulsen playing for them then?

As much as I dislike Poulsen ... credit where credit is due, he really did grow as a player at Sevilla.

Although he wasn't always in the line up - it was usually Marti and Maresca in midfield ... he did improve alot and his performances did catch the eye of some bigger clubs, rightly so.

My biggest concern with Poulsen is his ability to control his temper.

He can be just as destructive at Mascherano in terms of defensive capabilities... but very rarely do you see Mascherano committing fouls where the opposition player could seriously be injured.

BUT, as with Joe Cole, I'll put aside my beliefs of the player and give him every opportunity to prove himself at the club.

Good luck and I hope its good business by Hodgson.

I know you watch quite a bit of the Serie A Roopy, so I'm sure you know that Poulsen didn't cost Juventus games because of his temper (by getting sent off, committing fouls and giving away free kicks in dangerous positions or injuring opponents). He's calmed down quite a bit over the past few years and he's quite a good player IMO.

He reads the game well, his passing range & tackling are good and his shooting isn't bad either. Mascherano's ahead of him in terms of pace and tenacity, but he's much better on the ball than Masher. I like him as a player and I hope he can adapt to the pace of the English league quickly. I honestly think Juventus will miss him, because he outperformed both Melo and Sissoko (both players they've retained) last season.

From what I've read, the Juventus supporters would rather have kept Poulsen than Sissoko or Melo.

Although they don't seem to rate any of them very highly.

Very good post mate. Nice to read an assessment from someone who's actually seen him play a bit...

Well now that he's a Liverpool player, give the lad a chance to prove himself before shooting him down based on his past reputation.
based on his reputation the lad will be suspended about as much as aquilani will be injured

Then imagine how they must rate Diego now who was VERY good at Werder mind...

Has he completely failed in Turin?
Whenever I watched them play he was one of their worst, most uninspiring players. Don't know whether he shaped up a bit towards the end of the Season but he didn't look good at all.

Juve much like us had a mare of a Season and evidently players struggled even the good ones.

Melo and Sissoko are both fucking shit so I worry they kept him out if side.

I really hope he turns out to be a shrewd move, I don't think you need a world beater in that position anyway as long as you spot the danger and get stuck in, united have not had a great one since Keane left and they have done ok.

He might win player of the season for all we know. I'll get behind him and hope for the best.

Whats with these dodgy photos from the medical whenever we sign someone?

to prove that we actually do one

its funny how he made joe cole strip down to his shorts, and had his hands all over him. but when christian poulsen walks in its a different story.

doc: ok christian, just hang your clothes up there for me
poulsen: what did you say?
doc: nothing. i didn't say anything. you're free to go

Melo cost Juventus quite a bit of money and he actually started the season well, he just seemed to go downhill after about 7 or so games. Sissoko got into the team when Poulsen was injured.

I believe Juve were planning to replace Poulsen with Melo, but like has been reported Poulsen didn't want to leave, he was out of the team at the start of the season. He then fought his way back into the team and he ultimately emerged with more credit from the season than the aforementioned duo.

But, but, but then... he wouldn't look like Robbie Savage.
So we're assuming that Gerrard will move back into a CM position?

Well, that still means he will nedd the freedom to move forward and score goals, because nobody else other than Torres will get many

Which means that he'll leave gaping holes behind him, which require a top quality holding player to fill.

Is the Danish Robbie Savage good enough and mobile enough to do that? Or will we see Old Uncle Roy decide that, like Benitez did before him, we require *two* holding players behind Stevie

Because that will be fucking Poulsen and that other cunt

Which woild be dismal
Never mind that Brendan.. what happens when Gerrard is injured or rested?

That leave a midfield 4 of Poulsen, Lucas, Acquilani & Spearing.

Sorry to plant that vision in your head

Should be nowhere near our first team let alone club. He is shitter than shit. He makes lucas look good.

Actually it would leave a midfield of J.Cole, Poulsen, Lucas, Aquilani, Shelvey

I don't see how you lot have seen enough of him to form a sound opion on him and/or write him off.

Didn't realise we had a bunch of seria a fans on here!

From the few games I've seen him play for denmark he seemed alright so I'm not writing him off just yet.

Yeah he's not mascherano but were hardly loaded at the moment - I expect a younger, more blockbuster name to sign post takeover
