A report in The Shite newspaper this morning claims Liverpool have entered the race for Erik Huseklepp , recently voted the Norwegian player of the year in 2009.

Huseklepp could be a shrewd buy by Rafa Benitez if he was to bring the right winger to Anfield, at just 25-years-old the Norwegian international has just had the season of his life and is ready for a higher level of football.

Liverpool face competition from a host of Premier League clubs including Wigan and Hull after previously being linked with Chelsea and Aston Villa.

The 6.1ft right winger came through the ranks at Brann Bergen, making his debut in 2005. He recorded a hugely impressive 15 goals and 10 assists in 30 games for the Norwegian side in 2009 and could beef up the Liverpool attack where he to join the Premier League giants.

Rafa Benitez may also be able to sign Huseklepp on the cheap as he only has one year left on his contract at Brann Bergen and his versatility may also appeal to Liverpool. Although he is predominantly a right-sided midfielder he can also play as an out-and-out striker.

Scouts in Norway describe Huseklepp as a player who is "full of flair and can be unpredictable. He has played as a striker a lot but lacks finishing skills, although he creates a lot on his own. At his best as a winger who can be exceptionally dangerous thanks to excellent dribbling and good crossing."

Marvellous. Very little chance of the lad becoming homesick and demanding a move to a Spanish speaking country.

Sounds like Kuyt... but with the unpredictability of Garcia...

Super.

That's Nunez then.

No no no

He's not even holding a Danish passport for crying out chrimbo loud.

Who, the guy you've likely never seen play, who will likely never play for us?

He really does have a great cross on him; don't know why he'd be moving to us though and a little questionable as to whether last year was a one off in terms of his goals.

Because roger knows as much about football as a dog does about the universe

Come on, give Roger some credit here, the lad is a right winger, so there are clear similarities already.

i suppose. But all the same, he's a daft swine

benitez is like some sort of idiot who shows up to things on the wrong day with a stupid facial expression. he missed out on getting a top winger and its too late now. there's no money for one and they all went to other clubs anyway. even a perenial loser knows when to let it go

if he keeps his job then there are formations he could use that don't require a winger. maybe in future he should opt for those instead of putting dossena on the wing or of thinking of buying this motherfucker for another 6 million fucking pounds

I guess the same could be asked of you and the likes of Fabio Arse-O as well.

How in fcuks name do you know that he won't become another Jermaine P mk II for us ?

I don't give two hoots how many goals and assists he's made before. I only care if he cuts it at our club.

Speedy Gonzalez was apparently da bomb but instead of playing like D BOMB...he fcuking self-detonated into oblivion.

look you muppets, just cos my name's Roger, it's easy to pick on me. I'm just saying my gut feeling says he may end up being another Jermaine P. Some said he could be another Nunez or a hybrid of Kuyt and Garcia. I don't see you picking on them posters ?

Merry Christmas btw.

It’s really quite simple.

Jermaine Pennant never has and never will have a reputation for scoring goals.

He scored 3 goals in total for Liverpool.

He has never scored more than 3 goals for any club he has played for.

Huseklepp scored more goals in his last season that Pennant has in his entire career.

Kuyt & Garcia have been known to score goals from time to time.

Jermaine Pennant isn’t, hasn’t, won’t, shan’t, can’t…. willnae ever… score goals.

Mark Gonzalez only scored 1 goal less than Jermaine Pennant for Liverpool and currently plays for CSKA Moscow.

Russian team, you may have heard of them. Still in the Champions League.

So, to summarise, you’re being “picked on†because your post was complete and utter bollocks.

The other posts, apart from the Nunez comparison, weren’t completely ridiculous.

Try engaging your brain before your fingers from time to time.

I thought fabio arsehole would've been better. And obviously we're not allowed to buy players as they might turn out rubbish. Let's just go the whole hog and collapse the club. WE can't buy anyone after all

I share Roger's pessimism when it comes to Benitez signings.
[/quote]

Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Agger, Johnson, Aquilani, Benayoun, Reina, Luis Garcia?

Benitez has signed more flops than proven quality.

It's pretty obvious when you take a look at our bench.

The least one should expect from a Manager of Benitez "calibre" is 6 or 7 quality signings in his 6th year in charge.

At the going rate, he's amassed 1 decent player for every he's been here.

5 more years and we should win it.

He only gets about 15 million net to spend most years (besides the last one where he has operated at a loss) so asking for more than one quality addition every year is asking quite a bit. He has had an extremely hard job imo. And this is despite the fact that I am far from his biggest fan we don't have and don't spend the money to expect the results we want. We do though because we have pure quality in Gerrard and Torres. We can thank Rafa for half of that. And Agger's importance (exaggerated by the lose of Xabi) was highlighted yesterday with his ability to take the ball out of defense.

great post that, outstanding

edit: in other words, your post serves no point, tell me what you think was so wrong about my post, develop a conversation, its a forum.

Exactly. We might as well just shut up and not offer our opinions.

OR

We might just say what we think would be popular opinion amongst the mass forumites.

And mind you, never did I say we should or should not buy this Norwegian lad.

All I did was type these few words - 'Jermaine P'. Never would I envisage his name to produce so much contempt.

Anyway fcuk this - it's tiresome and feel free to pick on me you pedants. I can't be arsed to defend every post I make anymore.

I think the point is that you are able to judge, and dismiss, a player you have never watched kick a ball. You even go as far as to compare him to another player on no basis whatsoever.

That's why you are 'picked on', and that's why you have no credibility in a football discussion.

Roger's a good guy, but you have to understand, he makes comments based on what he reads (ie - he rates Pacheco very highly even though he hadn't seen him until this season). He's probably read something about him and he didn't like what he read.

Oh don't be daft.

I've been watching Pacheco play his first game for our Reserves from Day 1. In fact, I was championing his name for a very long time, even when most were pinning their interests on a certain Nemeth.

I remembered only a few rated Pacheco ahead of Nemeth back then and I was was one of them.

And oh btw, I hardly watch any football the last few months anymore which is in contrary to your wild accusations of me, so please shut your trap you WUM.
