Re: Liverpool bid to land Hamburg striker Elijero Elia for £5m in January

Hamburg chief Bastian Reinhardt insists only Wigan Athletic have made an offer for Eljero Elia.
The Dutch winger is said to be a £13 million target for Liverpool, which reportedly have already struck personal terms with his representatives.
But Reinhardt insisted: "There has been an offer from Wigan Athletic, which wanted to hire him for half the season.
"But will not rush to agree to such things. Apart from that, there have been no offers."
It has been confirmed that Italian giants Juventus are in transfer talks for Eljero Elia of Hamburg.
The German club rejected an €8m offer from the Serie A side for the winger earlier this summer, but the Old Lady are back in the hunt.
The Italian media are convinced that the Dutchman will arrive and his representatives have admitted a Turin switch is a possibility.
“We are negotiating with Juventus about the player’s transfer, but there is nothing new at this moment,” Klaus Vink of Fair Deal Sport Management, who look after Elia, told calciomercato.com.
“There are a number of things that need to be discussed and we’ll take all of the time that is needed.”
Juve apparently want the player on loan, with the option to purchase at the end of the present campaign.
“The mode of the transfer is also a point of discussion, but, in my opinion, we’ll be able to complete the move before the window closes.”
Elia, 24, joined Hamburg in the summer of 2009 from Dutch club Twente at a cost of around €9m.
The wide midfielder has played in 60 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga club, scoring eight goals in the process.
