Gerrard is taking too many touches when static. Over & over again he's touching the ball to give himself time but not moving which means he loses it.
Sterling is nowhere near form, first touch inconsistent & passing way off the mark.

He's caught between two stalls I think, playing passing pressing football & playing the quick moving conceding possession football that did so well last season.
Imo he should just go back to basics, pass, press, keep the ball, then gradually introduce some pace based play to free up Moreno, sterling, sturridge etc to do damage.
