Leicester post-match

Klopp's taken a fair bit of stick this week in the sports media, was watching the Beeb this morning and they were saying that his charisma isn't really papering over the cracks anymore and that two years in, it's fair to start being critical. In that they didn't think we'd improved significantly defensively and that the Ox is a bit of a baffling, overpriced buy.

Great news scoring 3 goals a game. Bad news having to.
At some point we're gonna stop scoring. Hopefully we stop conceding at exactly the same time. Otherwise...

We'll some of us (ok, mostly me) have been singing his praises for a long time. He can attack & stretch the opposition, yet rarely leaves his cb without cover cos he gets back when necessary.

His final ball is rarely good enough, but that's the thing everyone remembers him for instead of everything else he does.

Ha I've never left his side. He's been our best defender for a long time.

Badly missed.

Ming is fucking shite. We can't continue having a pointless discussion about the cunt because he's occasionally not shite for a short while. His default setting is fucking shite and he will always revert to it, the fucking shit bag of shite.

Couldn't agree more. I said in the summer LB and GK should have been a priority and they still should.

Moreno has been fine this season, cb, gk, dm, cf, cm andarguably rb have been more problematic than Moreno and Robertson, so far anyway

I don't think winger was a priority. Striker was moreso I thought
Attacking player with pace, skill and scoring boots who can unlock tight defenses. Salah I think has shown he can play across the front 3 and has already gotten the break through goal for us a number of times.

For me the priority went

LB
GK
Winger
CB
ST
CM
CB

Except a top class left back might actually have helped defensively and we all know it's only a matter of time with Moreno, same as Ming. We've been here before.

Fazackerley. No doubt Salah is mustard but that was about 7th on the list.

No "c" in Fazakerley 😉

I'm not getting all this Clyne love in on this thread. For those of you who say you gave him bad vibes last season, it's for a fucking reason. He switches off as much as Moreno does defending, but he doesn't have the brain farts the left back does. If you look at goals we are conceding this season, most of them aappear to be coming straight down the throat of the middle of our defence. Last season, there was a fair share of goals that came from between the right back and the centre half because Clyne just stopped thinking and didn't track the man. I'd rather persevere with TAA. He is the future of our right back shirt for the next few years.

TAA and Gomez have put in several performances at right-back that have been worse by far than anything Clyne managed

He's a better RB than either of those two

You think we needed a winger more than a CB and you don't think we needed a DM?!?!!

Are you Jurgen Klopp? Because that's just about as fucking Mongy as he is.

In what world did we need a winger more than a CB?! Is it in the world where we aren't conceeded 2 goals a game and dropped out of one cup whilst dropping points to Watford, City and Seville already?

Jesus Pat.

Difficult to comprehend ain't it?

I'm sure Clyne put some dodgy performances in early on in his career too. What I am saying, is that he is past his sell by date now. The other two are for the future, TAA as full back, Gomez as central defender. I'd stick with TAA and let him gain more experience in the league games. Play Clyne in the European games for now, and in the league when resting TAA.

Did he fuck. He was poor yesterday, again.

Nah mate, he was good yesterday. Was the only defender that actually stood up and fought yesterday.
And bar a couple of games (City/Sevilla) he's been good this season.

He's fucking 26. Behave.

Gini performance shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath of hendo, who played well.

If this was a good game from matip, our standards have well and truly dropped...

Really not sure about that. I like Matip and still hold out hope that with 1 or2 better players around him he could be really good, but I thought he was nervy and unsettled all game yesterday to be honest. Vardy played for it but that free kick he gave away which led to the corner for them to get it back to 2-1 had my blood boiling - was fucking daft.

I was at a party on Saturday evening, and one of the kids there was proper clued up on all the players, listing off strengths and weaknesses of Leicester subs and stuff. Anyways when they got the pen he instantly said Ming will save this, Vardy always wellies them dead hard there, and points exactly where he hit it, and said if he knew that then Ming defo would, and then it happened, and I was all for giving this 12 year old a coaching job at Liverpool.

Goals on Sunday had long feature last week about where vardy likes to hit the ball when taking a penalty
