Phew, that was quite a roller-coaster.

I love Salah. The goal he scored was one of the more difficult chances we created in the 1st half; shows the value of a player who has the ability to convert difficult chances. But even without the ball, when pressing you could just see how sharp he is, how he reacts to the smallest movements of the opponent, always 100% focused on the game. I thought Sturridge played well today, but even there you could see the contrast – Sturridge was tuning in an out of the game constantly, Salah was "on it" for the full 95 minutes.

Henderson had one of his better games of the season and deserved his goal. I still thought we missed someone with a bit more calmness and authority in midfield, neither Can nor Gini (except for a couple of episodes) provided it. Coutinho ran out of gas in the 2nd half, clearly not 100% physically, but his performance level was good.

In defense, I thought Matip did well for the most part. Lovren was awful and in the 2nd half Gomez just went to pieces. Moreno was surprisingly good. Ming saved us 2 points by saving Vardy's penalty, but he's made many mistakes today.

Poor game from Firmino today, but I suspect he was playing through injury – otherwise Klopp wouldn't have subbed him.

I love Salah too but I thought we agreed his finishing was poor.

Ming was shit for the penalty senario. He actually moved to his left slightly when the ball was on his right. He adjusted but was off balance so had to go in with his foot.

He was well dodgy throughout despite winning us the 3 points eventually.

C'mon, it's a bit ridiculous to criticize a GK for the way the saved a penalty. It's one of the hardest things to do in football and any way you can do it deserves only praise. BTW Ming saved 7 out 15 penalties he's faced in the EPL, it's a strong point of his game.

I thought we played well in general. The goals and situations we put ourselves in are due to individual mistakes.

Ming, Lovren, Gini and Gomez were poor for me.

Fuck the midfield and the referee was a wanker

Sturridge was lively, coutinho is getting there and Salah still cant finish the easy ones.

Thank fook Mane is back for Newcastle

He conceded the penalty imo. It wasn't the hardest ball to clear. He saw it coming and he couldn't adjust his feet so he had to fling himself at it.

Watch it again. Why was he running in the direction of the opponents goal and not towards the ball until the last moment?

I think he meant the tackle that led to the penalty.

Anyway, I though Ming did ok. Gomez was terrible but he'll learn hopefully

There is no doubt that he conceded the penalty (and missed the corner for 2nd goal, etc). I'm just saying he did very well for saving the penalty, otherwise I'm sure we wouldn't have left with 3 points.

My stream wasn't great but for the penalty incident but I thought Ming got the ball, terrible connection with the ball and definitely not what he intended but he got to the ball first?

We were unlucky with a few decisions for their first. The officials were pretty awful.

Gomez and Trent have both had a dodgy game now at right back but I guess that's what we're going to have to work through with the young lads. Well done Moreno, hasn't let Klopp down since his return.

Wijnaldum was completely ineffective, however Henderson make a ton of interceptions, finished well and had a great game.

How on earth is Gerrard allowed to continue being a BT pundit and a club employee?!

Sure Klopp loves him chewing the fat with Ferdinand at full time after our matches.

Seems mad.

*sigh of relief*
*breathe out*
*phew*
It's going to be a one long cardiac arrest season.

Ming was good and so was Moreno. The problem with our defense this season is now becoming obvious...we are missing Clyne badly.

I don't normally moan about refs and always get wound up when people do, but that was a pretty shocking home ref performance.
I missed bits as I lost coverage on the tubes but it felt like NO decisions went our way all day.

Other thoughts. Mignolet was fucking DREADFUL today. Brainfart after Brainfart all day. Cost us goals and conceeded a penalty. I'd give him ONE point for saving the pen and that's it.

Also I'm still full on fucking baffled why we signed a 40m bench option in midfield rather than a DM or CB but I'll moan less because it's a win today. Customary two goals conceeded of course but Coutinho filling the Mane role and bailing us the fuck out today.

Final thoughts.
Firmino was rubbish
Lovren was rubbish
Can was rubbish
Gomez was rubbish

Three points.
The end.

Henderson, wini, can have been in the bottom 5 performers of the season so far.

Absolutely clueless when were chasing posession. This side absolutely needs a diligent holding midfielder, klopps a bit mad if he doesnt see that as these three give zero fucks when it comes to covering the back four.

Mate, you're off your meds. He saved the peno and got us 3 points. Doesn't matter if he did the Macarena before the ball was saved.

By the way, Manchester City absolutely ruining the theory that you can't play attractive attacking football and still not concede goals.

You just can't do that when your back 5 are borderline retarded mongoloids.

Ming made two saves from Vardy what were match winning saves - he was to blame for the second goal, but the balance is in his favor. The peno was not a peno. He got the ball. But it was sloppy.. Great result on the road.

A few more results and the plastic critics will have to put the daggers away for a while.

Moreno, early on, played such stupid passes it was almost as if he was doing it on purpose. Lovren must hate him.

Great sideways pass by Hendo for the goal.

I thought Sturridge looked encouraging.

Milner was excellent at calming things down and organising the younger players in the last part of the game, a really effective substitution.

The criticism of Mignolet I think shows yet again how people have forgotten what slow motion replays are. They're slow motion. You can do all kinds of things at that speed. In reality, with Vardy bombing at you, there's barely a couple of seconds to act. He coped with it as well as most keepers could cope.

Mig was fouled for their first goal IMO and the corner itself was kicked in the 48th minute, only two minutes added on Ref?

I thought the penalty was nowhere near a penalty, yeah he didn't make good contact with the ball but he clearly did so. I'm delighted Mig saved it, Vardy is an uber cunt diving son of a bitch.

In some ways we played really well and for sizable chunks of the game we were up against 12.
Either way... 3 points.... GET IN!!!

Sturridge was playing with a face like a slapped arse. However, he's so much more dangerous than Firmino. problem is that his complete lack of work rate off the ball totally compromises our ability to try and win the ball back high up. if we had a more solid midfield, he'd be an automatic starter.

Mignolet fucked up for the penalty - should have take the ball - and for their first goal. Ok, he redeemed himself with the penalty save and its arguable he got fouled on the goal, but he's just not reliable enough. Top fella though and makes some great saves.

'Should have take the ball'? Again, I'd say if you look at the real speed rather than project elaborate though processes while gazing at the slo-mo, that's an implausible remark, like saying Moreno should be taller. Vardy was in so quickly there wasn't time to 'take the ball,' whatever that means. He DID get the ball first, which was quite an achievement given how fast the sequence was.

We are still a work in progress defensively and frankly we should have moved along more but here's a great core and a great manager there. So let's see how it goes. The defensive stuff is not rocket science so I'm hopeful...

Watched the highlights filling in a few of the blanks I missed out on.
Perhaps Ive been harsh on Mignolet, however I still feel like he was poor for the first goal and on the second goal should have done more than paw the ball across the face of goal.
Perhaps as Macca says I'm being crazy as it's all at pace, I just felt he should have been stronger in both incidents. Still I was probably harsh earlier. He made some good saves.
