Rob Green's form makes Ming/Karius look like De Gea/Courtois so Silvestri should get the nod as he has played in the previous rounds. Jansson and Bartley have formed a decent partnership but are nothing special..........but if we play Lucas at CB then we might be susceptible aerially from set pieces and Jansson in particular will be a threat. O'Kane is decent, plays DCM and has a very good range of passing. Sacko (if he plays) will give Moreno problems and Roofe is beginning to develop into a very tidy player (AM). Woods up front lacks all sorts of finesse and is just a battering ram but a highly effective (at Championship level) one. Stuart Dallas will probably play wide left and is a decent player who works hard but lacks real pace. We were linked with their young left back Charlie Taylor last season so it will interesting to see how he gets on.

My biggest worry is about their height advantage because Ayling, Woods, Bartley and Jansson are all good and if we play the team I think we will then Klavan and Origi will be our only two 6" footers.

I think they'll go....................

Was an interview with the president of the Leeds supporters club over here, and he said that they had rotated quite a bit in the previous rounds, and he expected them to do the same. This is the team they set up against Norwich in the previous round:

Leeds

  • 12Silvestri
  • 31Coyle
  • 5Bartley
  • 6Cooper
  • 28Berardi
  • 16Grimes
  • 25Vieira

  • 27Mowatt Substituted forSacko at 76'minutes
  • 7Roofe

I get angry about that all the time.

Luke puts his bag on & I'm all "You put that over both arms like that in my school & you'd get one of the straps cut off before dinnertime" & he's all "Dad, you're soooo OLD, everyone wears them like that now".

*sigh*
Ha ha - I'm 57 and I still get self-conscious using both straps - and I hike all over the world !

I have a hunch that my line-up will be close to the actual team they pick.. Either way; they are a solid top half Championship team who will be playing out-of-their-skin tonight. Hopefully we match their hunger and that our extra class will make the difference.

I used to wear one strap but found my back and shoulders got twisted as I tend to carry quite a bit around. Now I've gone back to two straps and it's much better. (But I do get told I look like a school boy at work.)

So maybe he's just looking after his back.

Makes your beer gut burst out your coat so its one strap for me, two straps makes me look like a cross between Big Daddy and Max Wall

#LFC line up v Leeds: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Lucas, Moreno, Stewart, Wijnaldum, Can, Ejaria, Mane, Origi.

Really hope it's Wijnaldum on the wing. Ejaria would be wasted there.

I think Wijnaldum will play in midfield and Ejaria in the attacking 3 – not really on the wing, because Klopp likes to have all 3 attackers as centrally as possible.

Good team, BTW. I didn't expect Can and Mane to start and surprised Grujic is on the bench.

In comparison to their starting XI in the league, that's a pretty much weakened squad. Hopefully it'll be a convincing victory and we get to rest a couple of players.

That's not far removed from the XI most were expecting Klopp would pick.

Defence is exactly the same everyone thought
