Arrives in January.

Is this even worth a thread?

Probably not, although we need comiv relief!

I saw him play for the US against Argentina last summer. He went on a couple of runs and then Mascher 'tackled' him. He didn't go any any other runs really after that.

I think he's too old for this move, he should have made it 3 years ago. At 27, I don't see him developing anymore, what you see now is the finished article, and he's just not good enough. Plus he's a total fucking pussy. I'm a yank, but I actually can't fucking stand him and I hated that he was (still is?) our captain, cause he is such a poor leader. He's not the kind of player that can put his head down and storm through the rough times; if he hits a rough patch, that's it, he quits. He's a quitter. Perfect player for the blueshite.

He'd be a decent option in The Championship, maybe Everton are planning for the future.

Well, I think at 27 he SHOULD develop more, but I agree he doesn't look like he will. I'm actually gobsmacked he's only that age - I thought he was about 30! Didn't he flop in Germany years ago?

Indeed so. Tried about three different clubs, didn't settle at any of them and went home with his tail between his legs. Why he's bothering to come to the Prem now, especially at such a nowhere club, Heaven only knows.

thought he was one of their more dangerous players today, fwiw...

also, his face notwithstanding, he doesn't piss me off as much as the others.

Agreed. He's settled in nicely there. although I suspect he may see more of the bench now Arteta's back. Pienaar's red card might help him though.

I've always thought he's a better player than commonly thought on here and that he's nowhere near as good a player as he thinks he is. Interesting to see what he makes of it. His past couple stints in Europe weren't encouraging but we'll see.

He has been a good pick up for the bitters to be fair, he has an eye for goal and he is motivated to prove himself in Europe. I honestly think he has 5-6 more goals in him before seasons end and he is a good player on the right for neverton.
