Bravo old man. Bravo.

I have vacillated all over the shop like Oncey on a bad day on this one.

From being openly horrified at Kenny coming in and us looking like deluded Newcastle "Return Of The King" fans, to slowly coming around to his return.
The news that the man himself wants the job (on whatever basis) has made me now really want him to get it.

Of course, the news that our apparent "favourite" choice is Roy cunting Hodgson has made the decision for me even easier.

So let us see how 6CM feels. Vote now.

It's got to be Kenny.

Besides, I'd hate to employ anyone with a middle name like "Cunting"

Purslow is responsible for this appointment. Iamgine the scenario: Kenny and Woy are the two choices.

Could he *really* pass over Kenny and appoint Woy, knowing that 90% of Liverpool fans would be against it?
Imagine Woy starting off with that hanging over him.

But it wouldn't be Woys fault as all Liverpool fans would know. They'd give him a fair crack of the whip. Purslow and Broughton may come in for some shite though

There is a chance that Hodgson won't want the job anyway. I suspect its a slim chance though.

Kenny for me, given the situation we are in.

The perception is that the sacking of Rafa was not what most Liverpool fans want, surely the club won't make another appointment that they think is unpopular with the fans.

If there are new owners taking over imminently I'd go for Kenny. If not I'd pick Roy. I'm concerned at the amount of time Kenny has been out the game.

Kenny is devoted to the club, passionate and has been involved during the Benitez reign. He already has contact with the players and knows the way in which the club is run from first team to academy. He'll also unite the fans.

Hodgson will divide the fans and if results go badly from the outset then things could get messy very quickly and his CV is not strong enough to warrant him being appointed ahead of Daglish.

Daglish is the only real sane choice between the two.

As they probably would with Kenny too

Really?

My impression is that Kenny is likely to be given more time than virtually any other candidate, no?

he has been out of day-to-day management for years now but I am not sure he has ever been totally out of the game has he?

They might just hesitate about appointing a manager who will be TOO popular with the fans too though.

Just because he's Kenny he won't get given time if things are shit week in and week out, surely?

No manager would. The point is that he would get more time from the fans than anyone else.

No Manager will get time now. We are not a club run by solid dependable types that we once were.

We can at least have the players managed by someone trusted.

Re: King Kenny vs Uncle Roy

Kenny all day and every day.

If hes given the job he'll turn our fortunes around, that i have no doubts about at all. I'm so convinced that Kenny is the right man that i'd give him a 4 year contract now.

I know like me that Kenny really rates the Ajax lad (Suarez) very highly, so i wouldn't be surprised to see Kenny make him one of his first signings if he takes over from Rafa.

FUCKING HELL!!! why would anyone want Kenny over Roy??

Kenny won the league with us 20 years ago... hasn't won anything for 15 years and hasn't been in management for 12 years.

Kenny inherited a great team from by-gone era's and whilst he added some fantastic players in the latter part of there career's (bar John Barnes) to form the 1988 team, we had the same problem as Chelsea have now come 1991 and players were getting too old.

Roy on the other hand has done wonders with Fulham, had they not had the distraction of the UEFA/Europa Cup thing, they'd have been in with a shout of finishing above us.

Kenny will fail if in charge of us...

Everything you say makes sense. But But But, he is the King. If he wants it, he gets it. I am oscillating like a pendulum on this issue.

Roy Hodgson has never won the league (not with us and not with anyone else). He has been out ogf PL managing the best part of the last 15 years (Dont even try to imply that coaching Viking of Norwy to a steady mid table place is manager quality job). If he could go back to manager role and "work wonders"with Fulham, why on earth shouldnt Kenny be able to come back to management and work wonders with Liverpool? By the way his so called wonders witFulham has mainly being parking the bus in the right place.

I used to feel the same way about Kenny, but then when I realised the stark choice facing us, Kenny or Woy, I started to warm to the idea. I'm not totally anti Hodgson - I just think he is a cracking manager of a small club- which we are not. Well, not yet anyway. Very few good small club managers make good big club managers. Motivating and managing the egos of the prima donnas in the league these days is not easy. But Kenny will have respect from the get go.

Hodgson

Although I'm hardly against Dalglish taking it, obv.

I just think Roy represents the logical choice.

4 away wins in two years is a fucking disgrace and I don't care if its 'lowly' fulham.
[/quote]

No wins in ten years isn't much better.

In an ideal world neither would be an option.

Seeing as we are royally fucked and those are the 2 choices then it has to be the King.
