Karius needed an incident-free preseason at the least to get some positive talk going if he's gonna remain as our first-choice keeper. The mistake, what led to it and how he responded means it's gonna be a bugbear for Klopp to address every single time.

It would appear Ward is finally going to get a chance, I for one am pleased, should of happened earlier.

Everyone is saying we need a new keeper when we potentially have one already how do we know he is better or worse than Allison. Look at Pope at Burnley nobody had heard of him a year ago but now touted at 20+ million after one season, Pickford cost Everton 30 million after one season at Sunderland what would he cost now. There is a risk with all of them from the little I have seen of Ward I don't think either Pope or Pickford are ant better they have just had more exposure/games.

He may not rise to the challenge but at least we will know.
