You don't think Pickford is an upgrade on Karius either, though
I'm inclined to agree. I used to see a lot of potential in him a few years ago but its hard to tell how much he has progressed, especially with a dogshit defence in front of him. However, i'm at the stage where I want someone rather than taking a risk. Maybe #LK1 needs a loan somewhere for a season.
There's generally two types of keeper, according to this World Cup:
1) dead tall, not so great with feet, slower off line, ace in the air - Courtois
2) smaller, more agile, better with feet, not so great on crosses or higher shots - Pickford.
Butland is certainly more category one.
3.Drone flying, Hollywood hills running, gazing into middle distance bellend.
Can anyone shed light on why Allisson is rated so highly? I've never seen anything to think he's anything other than decent. He's certainly never looked to me like he's of the level we need.
As many have already said, we are in "ABK" mode, where such is the desperation for us to see a new goalkeeper, that Anyone But Karius will do.
Of all the many fuck ups Brendan Rodgers made, none annoy me as much as selling Reina and buying Mignolet.

Reina was massively unmotivated at this stage, and was a shadow of the keeper he'd been the years before. Whilst Mignolet was hardly an inspiring replacement, the decision made sense at the time.
It doesnt seem like a good idea to invest 50-60 mill euros in Allison. He seemed very impressive for Roma, but these last few months he has seemed very average, and I cant honestly say that I've seen him have one good game since he was linked to us.
We should go all out for Courtois. Limited chance obviously, but in the end maybe money talks.
