Alisson’s valuation has skyrocketed over the past few months and Roma are ready to talk to anyone who is prepared to offer around £70m for their star shot-stopper. Real Madrid are also hot on the heels of the Merseyside club and according to sources close to Anfield, manager Jurgen Klopp is now looking at a potentially much cheaper option.
Indykaila understands that Burnley and England keeper Nick Pope is the man that now tops the German’s wish list. The 26-year-old has a contract at Turf Moor until 2020, but reports suggest that the Clarets would be prepared to sell for a figure in the region of £15m – a fee that Klopp feels represents much better value for money.
It’s understood that talks between the two parties have already taken place, but now Pope’s attention will turn to the World Cup, where he may still have a role to play in Gareth Southgate’s side in Russia over the next month.
Earlier this week, Brazilian number one Alisson Becker told a packed press conference that he was flattered by the interest from some of Europe’s heavyweight clubs, who want to secure his services this summer.
The 25-year-old Roma custodian was outstanding last season for the Italian side and his performances in both Serie A and the Champions League, have made him one of this summer's hottest properties.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a big money move and after the events in Kiev last month, it’s inevitable that the Premier League giants will have a new man between the posts come the start of the new domestic season in August.
