I mean, hopefully someone can have a look at it and exploit any deficiencies. I'm not holding my breath, they're a law unto themselves, clearly.

This. We can't know if there's anything we can do legally until we get proper advice on the subject. And I don't mean from McCormick.

Schedule A
Standard Directions for Incidents on the Field of Play which fall within Law 12, which were not
seen by Match Offi cials, but caught on video (serious foul play, violent conduct, spitting at an
opponent or any other person, off ensive, insulting or abusive language or gestures)
For Players of Clubs of The FA Premier League, Football League, Football Conference National
Division and The FA WSL.
(a) General Principles
These Standard Directions are subject to the terms of the Regulations of The Association
and the relevant Memorandum. In the case of any confl ict, fi rst the Regulations and then
the relevant Memorandum will apply.
These are Standard Directions; they may be deviated from at the discretion of the
Regulatory Commission dealing with any given case, if the circumstances of that case so
dictate.
Under these Standard Directions, The Association may charge a Player with Misconduct
under the Rules of The Association for incidents on or around the Field of Play, excluding the
tunnel area, that are caught on camera but not seen and dealt with by the Match Offi cials
at the time. The Charge may be accompanied by an off er of the standard punishment that
would apply to the off ence had it been seen and reported by the Match Offi cial(s) during
the match.
In exceptional circumstances, where The Association is satisfi ed that the standard
punishment that would otherwise apply is clearly insuffi cient, no standard punishment
off er will be made in the charge letter.
Where the player charged has been suspended due to a dismissal or under these Standard
Directions earlier in the same season, the penalty off ered shall be increased to include,
in addition to the applicable standard punishment, one game for each occasion that the
player has been so suspended.
For these purposes a dismissal earlier in the same season in a non fi rst team competitive
match will only be taken into account where it is for violent conduct, serious foul play or
spitting.
A written statement by Match Offi cials that they did not witness a particular incident shall
be conclusive evidence of that fact.

That's what I was thinking, I'm sure if a club agrees to 'play by the FA's rules' then they're pretty much scuppered if they try to do anything against the FA's wishes.

So I think it's safe to now assume we've completely bottled it & not appealed.

Gutless as fuck. Pissed off as much with the club for not appealing as I am the fa for taking the piss & people on here who seem to think it's perfectly reasonable.

All the clubs have agreed, and ostensibly the effect of that is as you say. However, it's got to be worth some hotshot lawyer combing through the paperwork to see if there are any loopholes to exploit.

Look, it's not worth arguing about to this extent.

We all agree that Suarez is a knobhead and deserves to be punished.

We all agree that the FA, to varying extents, is dodgy.

And I think everyone can understand that, from the outside, moaning about a player being punished for biting someone, makes the club, and it's supporters, look a bit shit.

Especially when he's already been staunchly defended for racism charges.

It's not even what you say you gibbering bellend it's the way you say it. You seem unable to get your point across without inferring those who disagree are either stupid or lack some form of mental capacity. Thats your issue. You've become socially retarded. And you fucking know it. That's why you felt the need to apologise to me "for acting like a dick" last time I saw you in the alehouse - you sad fuck. Now jog on.

Inferring?

I've straight out told you all that I think any Suarez issue makes you completely retarded.

As it did with your copy and paste job earlier.

Actually they may have, club are releasing a statement shortly according to my sources (my sources being the radio).

Until I saw the general reaction to the 10-game ban I'd probably have agreed with this. Now I'm far from convinced, because it would be clear that we weren't "moaning about a player being punished" but having a go at the proportionality of the punishment, as surprisingly large sections of general opinion are already doing.

I wish people would get rid of this assumption that people are moaning about him being punished.

Jon's quoting himself!

Sure sign this thread has gone to absolute fuck.

Did you miss Dantes legal advice earlier? That's usually when I know.

Did my in invite to your stag get lost in the post or something?

Again, that's fair enough, but it's not worth mates falling out over! These aren't big, divisive issues we're tackling here.

Ha. It was just easier than writing out what I was referring to as I was busy doing Harrison's dinner but thought the fact the club are releasing a statement was something the site would wanna know asap.

Nah, didn't see Dantes effort. He's alright is dantes, his football stuff is guff though. Nearly as bad as yours.

First stag is tomorrow in Melbourne. 2nd is on Sunday 12th in NYC - you're more than welcome to either. Which one will you be attending?

Good to see you've not forgotten your roots. 😉

Seriously though, doesn't that exclude most of your mates in Ireland form going? Bit of a logistical nightmare really, living in oz, getting married in NYC & having family & friends in Ireland.

The whole point of having it in New York was so that some of my side could actually attend. We figured if it was closer, then half those jobless degenerates might attend. Which has (un)fortunately turned out to be the case.

Not much of a logical nightmare really. My missus is doing 99% of it from here and we've got a planner over there.

I'm left to sort out my suit. Enough pressure there really.

Hahahaha. I bet you've employed a fashion adviser who can liase with her dressmaker to ensure the compliment each other.
