Unlikely since he hadnt done it before and wasn't a repeat offender.

Which is fair enough. Viera had plenty of previous though and only got six games for spitting - and three of those for the actual sending off prior to it.

The FA just want Suarez out of the premiership , the 10 match ban will try force him out of Liverpool FC

I'll be amazed if we don't appeal, but I still can't see the ban being reduced to less than the seven game ban he accepted for the first biting incident

Two of those games were bans imposed by his club I believe. Only 5 games were imposed by the Dutch FA

Hahahaha.

Completely and utterly mad and yet not in the least unsurprising.

Cue Ross to tell us he's a fucking idiot who deserves it. I can't wait....

Can you not see any logic whatsoever to it?

Have a look at what is actually relevant here and see if you can.

Gerrard should tell the FA to fucking stick the captains role and retire. They're blatantly taking the piss now, time our players started having knocks on the tuesday before England games and recover for us on the saturday. We've bent over far too many times for these cunts

What you would theoretically do, which I largely agree with, isn't really relevant to the end result of the punishments the FA has handed out, and what valuations they seem to convey, which don't seem to follow any particular metric.

My comment was in reference to you saying that biting was worse than a bad tackle, because it was "disgusting".

Well I think it is. Or at least a bad tackle that isn't dangerous, if such a thing exists. I don't think it's unreasonable that a certain subjectiveness should exist in law. All other things being equal, biting just 'seems' more disgusting to me (and IMO most people) than punching or kicking. It's more inhuman.

Oooh ...

And good shout on the Ajax ban (which I had forgot). 5+2 ... I guess the English FA are that much better than the Dutch FA, so they doubled their ban. After requesting Rooney's ban to be doubled to 6 games for his assault in Montenegro, I stand by them 100%.

It's impossible to find details of other violent conduct charges for incidents not seen during the game.

I was trying to do it earlier to see what trends were there.

I'm going to sound mental but who cares; I wonder which teams we may face in the first six games of next season.

I can imagine the FA programming the computer with this added info as we speak!

The mad woman in my work who supports LFC has just told me that the referee saw the bite, but didn’t book Suarez so that the FA could then take retrospective action against him for it and give him a bigger ban.

This is why I don’t talk to birds about football.

It's mad. They want the best players in the world in the league, which Suarez definitely is one of, but then they try and force him out. No wonder the likes of the German, Spanish and Italian leagues are starting to attract better players than here. The FA is a piss take.

Utd Away
Chelsea Away
Man City Away
Arsenal Away
Spurs Away
Everton Home

I threw the home fixture in because the FA can't be that bent surely?

He bit someone. You can laugh and joke about it, even try to play it down, but it's fucking disgusting behaviour and he deserves everything he gets.

No complaints here.

So it's worse than ending someones career and income.
Get a fucking grip.

I don't think anyone is playing down or disagreeing it's filthy behaviour and sure he deserves a ban, even more than 3 games. 10 games however is disproportionate in comparison with other incidents.

I agree with to an extent, but it would be spun back on him that he's supporting biting. No liverpool fans disputed he should be banned for what he did, but it had to be proportionate considering leg breaking two footers only get 3 games. So now they've gone massively over the top, surely there's some sort of gesture the players could make to the FA that's 'over the top'. Maybe all english players make themselves unavailable for the next england game?

What's worse, downloading a DVD illegally or buying the DVD and beating the shit out of someone with it?

The same lack of logic applies in the real world to the severity of punishments

If they're sending out a 'message' about biting to the rest of the world and kids playing football, that it's wrong, they've also today told them that you get 10 games for biting but 3 games for breaking someone's leg under the ref's nose.

I don't see why anyone else's career should be affected by what Suarez ultimately brings upon himself. However, I do hope England lose every fucking game for here until the end of time and they get banned from all kinds of competitions because their fans are cunts. Fuck the English FA

No logic it's basic common sense.

So basically authorities that dish out punishment just put their finger in the air and make shit up ?

Yea, that's precisely what I was responding to, I don't think there's anything more disgusting about certain violent acts than other, if they result in the same harm, and I think thinking that there is just renders certain types of violence acceptable.

And it's absolutely clear that we aren't disgusted by biting, we are fascinated by it, given it's been shown a billion times in slow mo, and has been a bigger story than a team winning the title.

Just pretend for a second that I don't know anything about illegal downloads, legitimate DVD purchases or attacks with various media forms.
What was that again?
